I don't know about you but I won't be able to feel safe with this craft. I googled (MA60) and apart from the manufacturers website, page 1 of the search engine hits is an article about the aircraft being not FAA certified (at least not yet).

If you plan to fly one of the domestic routes, you could probably be riding on these planes.

not yet FAA certified?? scary. kaya pala mura pa ng zest air hehe. at least cebu pacific and pal express use known models (ATR and Bombardier). though both companies have had problems of late. i think Bombardier's Q300/400 encountered some front landing gear problems.

Just called Zest Air - according to them, this plane is servicing Antique, Busuanga and Batanes.

bago naman na punta sa service ang aircraft for commercial use kailangan muna na certify ito ng regulatory bodies like sa boeing kailangan macertify muna ito ng regulatory bodykung saan na ka base ang manufacturer like faa and then ma certify naman ito ng regulatory body ng carrier kung phils ATO, incase na made in china ito, kailangan ma certify ito ng chinese regulatory body at pag gagamitin sa phils lang pati ATO, pero kung phils-us-phils kailangan pati FAA.

Everything is a risk. But, I wouldn't risk riding in an airplane that has not been certified by an internationally-acclaimed regulatory body. The fact that the plane was decommisioned from service by two Chinese airlines is already a big issue....

Well... it was into a very strong headwind, that's understandable. Without knowing how strong, it's impossible to say.

But to fly in a plane that doesn't meet FAA certification? Pass.

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) A Zest Air plane overshot the runway in Caticlan Airport early Thursday morning but all of its passengers were unhurt, police said.

Initial reports reaching Camp Crame said the incident occurred at 7:55 a.m. where the Zest Air flight Z2-863 with tail number RPC 8992 overshot Runway 24 of the airport.

Director-general Ruben Ciron of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) told reporters in a separate interview that the plane was trying to land in Caticlan, the major gateway to the resort island of Boracay.

The CAAP will dispatch an investigation team to Caticlan International Airport.

A report from the Aviation Security Group said all of the plane’s 55 passengers were unhurt.

The plane, however, remains stuck in a canal at the end of the runway, located around a meter from the national highway.

Airport police have assisted all passengers.

The plane, a China-made MA60 aircraft, was piloted by a Captain Bernard Hervosa with Capt. Jeffrey Lim as co-pilot.
