Next week kasi i'll be on transit sa Cebu from Ormoc to Iloilo.
I'll be taking a supercat ferry to Cebu and plane to Iloilo.

    Tanong naman po:

Q1 - Gaano kalayo at katagal ang byahe from Pier to Mactan Airport?

Q2 - Magkano usually yong pamasahe from pier to airport sa taxi?

    about going around Cebu.

no idea how much it costs dun sa mga pier. i usually take the plane from Manila and vice versa.

kontratahan ng taxi, madami din lalo na from the ports of entry. pero from point to point pag nasa city ka, hindi sila nangongontrata. take lots of loose change pag nasa taxi ka. ang gimik ng mga taxi drivers dyan is the same as manila (diba most ng taxi drivers dito sa manila eh cebuano din???) so make it appoint that you carry loose change wherever you go.

do's: if you are in for business, wear cool clothing. polos and slacks will do. mainit and humid ang weather dun.

do's: enjoy the scenery. lots of historic and beautiful places. enjoy the GIRLS. hehehehe. iba ang CEBUANA. hehehehe.

do's: stop by at tabuan. buy lots and lots of danggit and daing na pusit. mas mura dun. kung kakayanin mo pa, dun ka na rin bumili ng dried mangoes sa factory nila sa guadalupe.

do's: try to eat lechon cebu. kakaiba lasa nyan. di na sya kailangan kainin with lechon sauce.

do's: try to hangout dun sa village. sa may lahug waterfront hotel. alam ng mga taxi yan. nice food, nice crowd, DAMI CHIX, may live bands.

don't: as if in manila, don't count your money in public places. don't display your cellphone in public. dami snatcher specially dun sa medyo public places.

don't: drink yourself to death. otherwise, you might miss something good. hehehehe.

do: be friendly. cebuanos are really nice people. medyo ma-weweirduhan lang sila sa iyo dahil sa tagalog accent mo.

I was there december. I cant recall the exact amount but ballpark of about P200 , and time of 30 minutes.

If you re travelling light and are not comfortable dun sa mga amuyong na nag aalok ng taxi, walk towards the main road (kung saan maraming jeep) , daming taxi dyan. Thats what i did. (bai is parang pare). Good luck and have a nice time.

Taxis in cebu and manila are likely the same...

I think supercat arrival is in Pier 4, kung konti lang ang dala mo pwede mo nang lakarin palabas sa gate, pero kung may pagkabigat yung karga mo taxi inside the port ka na lang seguro...

Try to contact the airline company/agent, if they have a shuttle bus in Pier 4 para malibre kayo....

Happy Trip!

The travel time is approximately between 30-45 minutes, depending on the traffic. The fare can cost you between P 200 - 300.

    Some tips/info for Iloilo:

    1. Go to Taboan and get your fill of pasalubongs on danggit, dried fish and dried mangoes.
    2. Go visit Guadalupe or Carcar and get yourself their tasty chicharon.
    3. Try their lechon.
    4. Try not to count your money or display your cell phones at Fuente Osmena or at Colon. Chances are, you'd get mugged even on broad daylight.
    5. Go to Fort San Pedro and the Chinse Temple.
    6. Go to the ihaw-ihaw's near the Chong-hua hospital at night. Sarap! Just make sure you'e not alone.
    7. Avoid a stranger who tries to make a conversation. Chances are, he/she is a member of a budol-budol gang.
    6. Take a ride and go down on designated passenger stops and cross on pedestrians only. The traffic people there give tickets to erring passengers and pedestrians.
    7. Try their bread. Cebuanos make some of the most delicous breads.
    8. Go to the Metro Gaisano Mall food court and try some of their ngohiong. Sarap!
    9. Be aware of your surroundings. There are a lot of pick-pockets in Cebu. I got picked thrice already.
    10. Avoid the Midtown Hotel, near F. Ramos at night. Unless, you want to be approached by pimps peddling their girls. They even have a photo album of their wards.
    11. Smile. Cebuanos are very friendly and malambing.
    12. Go to the Sto. Rosario beach at Mactan island. The water is lovely and the snorkeling is excellent.

    Some tips/info for Iloilo:
    1. The taxi fare from the airport to a hotel is between P 100-150. P 200 even, if your hotel is far.
    2. Smile and try to be charming. Ilonggos are the loveliest of peoples.
    3. Go to the molo district and have a fill of their molo.
    4. Try their old timer la paz batchoy. You can either go to the la paz district to eat batchoy or go to Ted's at SM or Robinsons.
    5. Eat sea-foods at Net's and Tat's near SM.
    6. Go to the electronics surplus shop at the top of robinsons. You can buy a 180-watt original (Japan) Kenwood, 8" two-way panel speakers for less than P 1,800. Bago pa.
    7. Try their chicken inasal.
    8. Again, be carefull of your belongings and be aware of your surrounings.
    9. Go to Helen's and eat pantat (sinugba)
    10. Do go to Guimaras! You won't regret it.

    Enjoy.

Check in ka sa Cebu Century Hotel at Pelaez corner Colon Sts. sa downtown, nasa P550 to 600/ night. Sa downtown nga lang, Taxi fare from there to Airport would be from P150 to 180. Kung hindi masakit naman sa iyo magspend ng 2.5k to 3k for an overnight stay, doon ka na sa Waterfront Mactan, tabi lang mismo ng Airport.
