Pinoys to enjoy long Christmas, New Year break
    11/18/2008 | 10:01 AM

MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos will enjoy a long holiday in December as Malacañang declared two days - which are wedged between a weekend and a regular holiday - as special non-working holidays, a radio report said.

With this, the following days in Decembers are officially declared holidays:

    • December 1 (in lieu of the Bonifacio Day on November 30),
    • December 25, Christmas Day (regular holiday),
    • December 26 (special non-working holiday),
    • December 29 (special non-working holiday), and
    • December 30, Rizal Day (regular holiday).

December 27 and 28 fall on a Saturday and on a Sunday, respectively.

Malacañang has also earlier declared December 31 as a "last day of the year" special holiday, which will be followed by another the New Year holiday on January 1. - Sophia Dedace, GMANews.TV

Ang sarap niyan para sa mga regular office hours and weekday’s work. But for those like in the hospitals, matagal nang kinalimutan ang holidays but the best thing is an additional of 130% ang pay if the duty day falls on a holiday. Di na rin masama. Sanayan lang on their part.

I’m in a Mon-Fri day schedule but on-call on holidays so pwedeng kasama ako dyan.

kung declared holiday yan.. eh di walang bank? so kung ikaw empleyado... the period spans about 2 weeks... no banking day for 2 weeks straight?? pano yung mga sumasahod ng lingguhan? san kukuha ng pangsahod kung walang bank na withdraw ang employer ng cash? even kung atm.. hindi lahat ng banks that have atm payroll can do all the processing entirely online.. yung iba may component pa na keilangan talaga person to person para ma transmit... pano na?

What about December 24 (Wed) Christmas Eve?

As per Malacanang Proclamation #1463, it never did mention about the 24th of Dec which I believe is important for most of us.

    http://pinoy-business.com/content/view/326/105/

    Basing from above holidays,

Dec 22 (Mon) - working day
Dec 23 (Tue) - working day
Dec 24 (Wed) - working day
Dec 25 (Thu) - CHRISTMAS (Regular Holiday)
Dec 26 (Fri) - Day after CHRISTMAS (additional special non-working holiday)
    Dec 27 & 28 - SAT/SUN
Dec 29 (Mon) - additional special non-working holiday
Dec 30 (Tue) - RIZAL DAY (Regular Holiday)
Dec 31 (Wed) - LAst Day of the Year (Special non-working holiday)
Jan 1 (Thu) - NEW YEAR (Regular Holiday)
Jan 2 (Fri) - Working days

Does this mean may ofc pa din on the nite of the 24th?

IMO, prerogative na ng mga various companies yun pero still hoping Malacanang can amend the dates...

Pwede po pakisama na ang Dec 24 at Jan 2 PLEASE!!!!!!
