    peeps,

help naman, i am standing as a wedding coordinator for my brother who plans to wed late this year...

    1. ano ba magandang wedding flowers aside from roses? ayaw nila kze ng roses e, masyado na din daw pa-say... wag naman masyadong expensive ha, hirap mag budget e... Ü

    2. san magandang gawin venue para sa reception, sana within QC area lang... i am thinking GAZEBO sa may visayas ave, maganda din dun, mahal kze sobra sa FERNWOOD GARDENS e.

    3. since i plan to just get a venue for the reception, a caterer will also be needed, if you know anybody, please advise.

    4. and most of all, i need a good mananahi who can sew the gowns for the bride & secondary sponsors, i will be providing the material.

    thanx in advance...

    CG:D

mananahi is "I Do bridal selection". owner is Jun. they use to rent from us and they also did our wedding. they transfered to a new location at Congressional Avenue at Circle C. that's where the robinson's supermarket is at congressional avenue. unfortunately they have not set up the shop yet last week when i left for overseas.

if you really want to get in touch with him, call my mom at 920-24-69. just tell her you are a customer of "I DO" and she will tell you Jun's new phone and address. I'm overseas right now so I don't know the info.

fernwood na rin sana recommend ko pero sabi mo ayaw mo dun. very expensive nga dun, kaya kami sa baluarte de san diego sa intramuros. why not consider having it there, the venue cost us only 25k.

i forgot the name of the caterer already, but if you just go to fernwood i'm sure they know plenty of people in that business.

    hope this helps.

    Cargurl,
Regarding the flowers, I can refer you to the person who did our wedding. He is has a flower stall in dangwa. He is very flexible and I feel he can give you a good package for your budget. My wife and I were very happy with what he did during our wedding. Like your brother, we aslo wanted other flowers other than roses. He used gerberas, mums, stargazers, cala lilies, tulips, orchids, and other flowers I cant remember. If you want his contact number and a some pics of his work, PM me nalang.

    Cheers! :D

    try tulips, stargazers and/or gerberas.

    2. san magandang gawin venue para sa reception, sana within QC area lang... i am thinking GAZEBO sa may visayas ave, maganda din dun, mahal kze sobra sa FERNWOOD GARDENS e.
hmmm. ok sa UP. sa may lagoon (kung garden reception) or bahay ng alumni. alam ko libre yung lagoon area basta accredited nila ang caterer. try calling the planning dept ng UP. otherwise, try villages' clubhouses (ok ang sa acropolis) or sa convention centers ng camp aguinaldo or crame.

    3. since i plan to just get a venue for the reception, a caterer will also be needed, if you know anybody, please advise.
    highly recommended (based on feedbacks):
    josiah
    tamayo's
    hizon's
    batis azul

    4. and most of all, i need a good mananahi who can sew the gowns for the bride & secondary sponsors, i will be providing the material.
not much i know of in this aspect (my fiancee is taking care of this), but make sure you include the cord, veil and pillow.

in the midst of preparation din kami kaya may alam alam din ako. hehehe

    pahabol...naalala ko na kasi.

caterer nga pala namin was "au france", look up mo na lang sa yellow pages. reasonable prices, very good food. they can also take care of the musicians, if i remember right free yun 3 piece ensemble nila, or at least very good price. we had a string quartet, may bayad na e but very reasonable. masarap na ang food, may nag-serenade pa na string quartet dun sa amin and the guests during the reception. sama na sa fee yung sound system. their address is in white plains, di ko lang ma-remember saan exactly. the price they charged us was only P90k for 150 guests (10 course meal from soup to desert), including 3 layer cake, doves, string quartet, waiters (1 for every 2 tables) including 2 dedicated waiters for the presidential table and 1 each waiter for the groom and bride and 1 each for the parents' tables, sound system and the chairs and tables plus the flowers at the reception. dami ng flowers na nilagay nila sa baluarte, ganda pa ng mga arrangement. mind you 90k for all that is cheap!

Jun Ricaforte of "I DO bridal collection" can also take care of the flowers for you in church. but most churches can do that, like san agustin (dun kami e). san agustin church also has well trained ushers who will manage the wedding march efficiently.

yung printing ng invitation sa SM north madami. best price we got was the one just in front of chowking 2nd floor SM north, yung nasa corner.

make-up, since nasa SM north ka na e di dun ka na din kumuha ng make-up artist sa ricky reyes sa second floor. I think it's 2500 for the bride and 1000 each for the entourage and bride's mother. ask for Michele (bading din ito, ok sya magaling).

speaking of baluarte de san diego, the contact is intramuros administration. office is at the palacio del gobernador in intramuros, just beside the cathedral. in case you don't fancy baluarte, they also rent out the inner walled city (very romantic ambiance!), yung papasok ka pa dun sa part ng intramuros na may moat and draw bridge. kaya lang di namin nakuha at booked sya on our wedding day. pag dun ang kasal, the bride and groom has to ride on a horse drawn carriage with matching uniformed guardia civil as kutsero and escorts! or else sayang ang place hehehe! mas mahal din sya kesa sa baluarte, but still cheaper than fernwood gardens.

if you are going for intramuros (cathedral or san agustin) then i suggest have the reception there na. marami pa ibang venues for the reception, dun lang nga sa tabi ng san agustin meron na e, maganda din (old spanish mansion ang dating, forgot the name of the restaurant).

basta pag sa gardens ng intramuros ang venue lahat yan intramuros administration ang nag-manage. government agency yan. go to the palacio del gobernador building beside the cathedral, andun ang office ng intramuros administration.
