I took Insight. Ok naman po. Pero say nila try going without tour and instead plan an itinerary using the Internet. Tamad lang nga po me to do that.
we went on a tour arranged by Multi-Destinations (travel agency). Ok naman but as expected, medyo hurried yung tour schedule.
Plan your own tour. Use the unlimited pass (30-day/15 day whatever, get-on get-off the train) of their railway system and jump from one city to another depending on your taste & budget. That's what i did, started at germany, worked my way down to belgium, netherlands, paris, lourdes, barcelona, nice, milan, venice, florence, rome, then vienna. My friends who took the packaged tour spent twice/thrice & went to only half or 2/3 of where i've been to. Also, you save a lot of your time on the train other than the bus. You get from city to city faster than the people who are sufferring sitting /sleeping on the bus. Take the night schedule of the trains, you save on hotel accomodations by sleeping in the cabins. Downside is, you are your own travel guide. But if you're smart enough, you know where to go & what is good in that area. (bring a Lonely Planet guide). IMHO, this is the best way to backpack through EU. But if you're not brave enough, you're better off paying the travel agency for a guided tour.
btw, do that only if you're a group of young people. I wouldn't advise it if you're with your parents or any old/physically challenged person.

Don't go trafalgar most people who take them are seniors, try taking contiki tours. mostly young people take it (21 to 35) so more fun.
Also Anton's advice is more adventurous and exciting.
the trains move fast enough & honestly there's not much view going from city to city, mostly mountains & fields. you're better off catching some sleep in the train & be refreshed for roaming around the next day. if you're lucky enough, go around the train, you might bag a European chick. :p Pack light, 1 big-sized luggage and/or a overhead-sized luggage and a big backpack. Plan ahead, know the schedule of the trains. If you're short on budget, eat at McDonald's or KFC. Their Big Mac sandwich is around 300php & that's just the sandwich. If you're planning to stay more than 2 days in a city, never stay in a 3-5 star hotel. Pensionnes, 1-2 star hotels ar good & safe enough. You might even meet a Filipino cleaning your room or manning the front desk.

It would be better for you to pay a little extra for the tour, nothing would suck more in a vacation than wasting time deciding on what to do. My tour last year wasn't that bad 17 days( Italy, Greece, France, Belgium) cost me a little over $cad 4,000 excluding other expenses i.e. shopping, fancy dinner, have to try local cuisine.:slurp: Just do the solo thing if you think the country deserves a second go, by that time you know what to do where to go.

Watch Euro Trip before going on your vacation.![]()
Nothing beats discovering on your own. There are a lot of travel guides you can refer to before you embark on your trip![]()

If you don't mind roughing it try to stay at a hostel.(hostel.com) they would be cheaper and just befriend your room mate, go places with them.
Ot just make sure you don't drop your soap if it's a communal washroom..![]()

WBR,
yung mga tours dyan does not include the airfare from and to manila. and magkaibang airport ang arrival and departure. for example, yung london-rome na tour will start in london and end in rome, so ang airfare is from manila-london then rome-manila. parang lumalabas na parehong one way airfare tickets ang bibilhin?Originally Posted by Innova_Boy
