ive seen a land rover defender, for auction by the govt. sira na talaga ang makina , 4 years na di tumatakbo. ang tranny, ok pa daw, ok pa rin ang body. my query is, mag match ba ang tranny ng defender sa 4d32 mitsu or 4bc2 isuzu? malaking makina ang mga ito, gamit ito sa mga PUJ. mahal daw kasi new engine or overhaul ng land rover.

you might want to visit this uselful website.

no tips on mitsu and isuzu engines, but you might get some few pointers here.

Check with the LR guys. I'm no expert on this but I think the even the M/T tranny of Land Rovers have a pump and use AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID unlike Japanese transmissions with no pumps and who use ordinary gear oil.

A surplus 300TDi engine or a rebuild is possible if the price is right. LR diesels are very tough engines.

i had asked a friend who has a land rover defender. he told me that a new LR engine is not practical, too expensive to put in an old unit. cant rebuild the engine onboard either, as in sira na talaga, walang c. head, injection pump, etc... yup, ill try to ask about the said pump in the tranny. i ve check the links, its helpful but i just dont like that toyota 3c-turbo engine, sirain, mahirap ang parts hanapin.

rion, thanks sa links mo. no offense meant sa comment ko sa 3c-turbo. mentioned kasi sa links as possible replacement. may bad experience kasi pinsan ko engine na yan, then mahirap hanapin parts d2 sa davao.

no probs, just make use of the few pointers...

from personal experience, I woudn't recommend 3c-turbo either... medyo mahirap nga maghanap ng parts...

Is it really a DEFENDER? check carefully. the series III up to 90/110 models all look alike.

Jap diesel in a defender? bad idea. Defender is full time 4wd.
