    Mga gurus,

This has been a bother to me for the past few months, kung minsan (kung hindi ko aalalayan) merong knocking sound (parang tok sound) upon my release of the clutch after shifting gears. Napalitan ko na ang upper and lower cross joints ko. I'm all out of ideas na rin. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

sir, anong kotse po ito? anywayz, have you checked your Shift Linkages (if its FWD) or Transmission Mounts? also, if the car is RWD, check your Driveshaft (or Propeller Shaft) Center Bearings and U-Joints (Yoke.. etc.)

    aite, peace.

I see, well if its a Civic (and some FWD cars) then heres an example of parts that would cause some knocking sounds/noises while idling or driving.

-worn / loose Transmission or Engine mounts (check the rear Tranny Mount on the Civic, since that part usually wears out)
    -worn Shift Linkage bushings.
-worn Axles (Axle Shaft / CV joint..)
-worn / loose Suspension Bushings and Ball Joints.

anywayz there are some other parts that can cause unusual noises while idling or driving.. but in your case, it muna ang nilista ko. hope this helps.

Already replaced the transmission support (P550 lang pala OEM BTW, total cost ko was P1,050.00 lang dala tune up hehehe). Nawala na ang clonking sound. Thanks Sir KBR, syur and speedy!

550 oem? that's really cheap. i don't think i've seen any oem supports for that price.

im having similar problem when shifting gear but not as often as the problem originally posted here.. also, i noticed that the shift knob (hope i used the right term for "kambyo") gets hot when driving for several hours, 2-4 hrs continous driving.

    any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

btw, i have a honda city exi 97
