My 2011 Santa Fe CRDI A/T 4wd probably needs overhauling. I feel the tranny slides when changing from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gears but runs fine on 5th and 6th gears or at highway speed. Also, the car jerks when cold at stop but jerking's gone when reaches operating temperature. I have it OBD scanned but found no fault, have the tranny fluid changed and still no improvement. Any advise will be highly appreciated. maraming salamat.

For the lifetime of the vehicle how many times did you change the transmission fluid? I always say every 24months..

have an AT specialist see it and estimate the cost of repair. ask about their warranty terms.
compare the cost of fixing versus replacement with surplus.

Thank you dr. d, I will try to inquire sa Banawe, do you know of any reputable A/T specialist in the area or within QC?

i had initially thought of having it fixed in banawe; they said they will do the job inside of one day, with estimated 25K cost to me.
but somebody suggested DnR in sucat, which was also recommended by someone here in tsikot (egan?), for the same estimate. but i had to leave the car for three days.
    i chose DnR.
i am satisfied with the result.

but mine is a run of the mill toyota.
yours is a hyundai. best to ask for shop recommendations. hopefully, someone here will recommend.

keep us updated on the price of overhaul (or surplus replacement)

I'm guessing clutch pack will all be replaced (as it doesn't make sense to replace only the faulty ones)

Slipping gear can be observed.. is there a sudden increase in rpm when the gears change? If yes then it is clearly slipping... also did you use the correct fluid?

rpm appeared to be steady, but there's a momentary hesitation when upshifting. I used the recommended Hyundai xteer SP4 fluid.

Tama ba ang rating ng fluid na nilagay mo?

Using wrong fluid is as bad as not replacing the fluid

Try going to fronte in banawe. Doon ko pinagawa yung transmission ng Starex ko po. Kala ko complete overhaul ng transmission pero replace ng solenoid ang ginawa. Punta ka lang ng early morning para ikaw ang una.

Sana nga its just the solenoid. Is the tranny remove from the engine when doing solenoid replacement?

mahal din po yung solenoid, one solenoid for each gear including reverse kung papalitan nyo po lahat. In my case pinapalitan ng lahat ng forward solenoid para isang bukasan ang nasira solenoid for 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear.
