October 6th, 2012 02:53 PM #1Hello Tsikoteers !
Good day to all ! Need your advise & inputs.
Ride is a Corolla 2000 xl. manual transmission.
Over the past 2-3 weeks, I noticed a mild screech sound (about half a second) sometimes when I shift gears. More often when shifting into 4th gear.
It only happens during 1st 5 minutes after starting the car while engine is still cold. So, either mornings departing home going to office or after office (parked all day) going home. After first 5 minutes or so, no more screech.
To be specific ... as i shift from 3rd to 4th gear ...
1. I step on clutch - no sound
2. I shift stick from 3rd to 4th gear - no sound
3. I slowly depress clutch - mild screech sometimes
Bought the car 4 years ago. Use it everyday home to office & never did any major repairs with the transmission. Only thing i can remember is repair of clutch master with repair kit about 3 months ago.
Am not experiencing sliding .... drive seems ok
Does it have anything to do with the transmission ? Do i just ignore it or should it be something I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
