    sirs,

    ano ba ang mas okey, 'matic o manual na kotse?

    dami sigurong mga factors to consider, reliability, ease/comfort, fuel consumption, maintenance, etc.

    assuming i would not mind driving a manual transmission car, am i missing a lot from an automatic?

    salamat po.

    pag manual, mas controlado mo yung pag takbo mo sa car (like making it reach the red line before shifting up, as well as engine breaking. mas tipid ka rin sa fuel. pag tumirik, pwede itulak para magstart ulit unlike sa matic.

    pero sa traffic natin sa kalsada, mas ginhawa talaga mag matic!

    my 2 cents. :mrgreen:

    Kung medyo hindi ka magaling magmaneho, mas mahirap sirain ang A/T kasi mas simple ito and walang clutch to burn or foul up.

    bakit mas mahirap sirain??? yun pa ang term na ginamit mo :mrgreen: malaking ginhawa yan sa trapik pero mas malakas nga lang ang fuel consumption mo.

    If you want better fuel economy, engine control --> manual
    If you want convenience --> matic
    If you want convenience with some control --> InvecsIII !!!!!

    Ang matic sealed against water (sa Sentra ng kapatid ko, yung breather ng A/T nasa tabi na ng brake master cylinder).

    Hindi ka pwedeng mag-'clutch driving' sa matic (walang clutch, eh).

    Walang misshifts, walang overrevs.

    Fuel consumption does not differ much from a similar M/T model wag lang mabigat ang right foot.

    gaya ng mga replies, depende kung gusto mo ba ng "power on demand" or "convenience." And bored din ako kung A/T kaya M/T pinili ko.

    sa tindi ng traffic dito sa manila A/T talaga ang kailangan...kakatamad magpadyak...relax ka lang sa traffic...kapag m/t lalo umiinit ang ulo ko sa stop and go eh..

    marami ding nagsasabi, mas matagal ka ba sa traffic or sa karera? kung daily driver dapat daw matic na lang kse how often do you or will you race someone nga naman. sabi ko, I need this power kapag papasok ng freeways/highways. saka paminsan minsan may naghahamon sa kalye, masaya na kong once in a while eh napapakinabangan ang manual. :mrgreen:

    In my opinion, depende sa car na bibilhin mo kung A/T or M/T.

    sampol list:

    CRV = matic
    Hyundai = Matic
    SUVs = matic
    EVO = manual siempre! (may matic ba nito?! ewan ko, hehehe)
    WRX = manual siempre! (yes, may matic nito)
    Acura RSX-S = manual lang yata ito

    yun namang mga Corolla, Civic etc., make sure na wag mo masyadong pormahan kung matic at baka may maghamon sayo and hindi mo makayanan.

    Pag nasira ang AT di ba magastos? If that happens, pwede bang palitan na lang ng manual?

    Tanong lang po, balak ko sanang palitan yung kotse namin ng automatic para di mahirapan si Misis, ok pa ba yung matic na Honda civic lxi or vti model 96-98. reliable pa ba ito? nahihirapan kasi misis sa paakyat tapos hinto ka sa incline. thanks

    ang alam ko di pwede kadyutin ang matic eh. battery to battery ang jump starting nun.
    sa a/t ang regular maintenance lang is dapat regular ang changing ng a/t fluid lalo na pag nabaha.
