Hi. I was told by the mechanic that I need to replace all four transmission support for my 96 corolla gli. He showed me a rubber below the air filter that was cracked. He said that the 3 others are also cracked. Was I looking at the proper part?

I am having trouble deciding on whether to get original or replacement. The estimate to have the four supports (original) replaced was P10,800 for the parts only. I want to know how critical the transmission support is in my car's good performance (like will it cause me to stall if it gets severely damaged?).

Depende. If madaling palitan, I would go for replacement parts. If magtatagal yun car sa iyo, original parts. Di ka ma stall but you'll have vibrations/backlash/noise that you've never experience with good supports.

Just from experience and what I've read, replacement parts can go bad sooner than original/OEM parts.

Afrasay has a good point, if you plan to keep it use good quality materials/OEM/"original" items. Peace of mind mo na rin yon. Can't really put a price on that di ba?

Go for OEM. Mashadong malambot yung ibang replacement parts. Halos walang difference.

I just buy good jap replacement like JAC, etc.

    Tatagal din naman.
