i have excessive play in the clutch pedal. i took a look at it for adjustment purposes and it seems there is very little resistance from the pushrod until the clutch is 70% of the way to the bottom.

also the clutch pedal needs to be depressed ALL THE WAY to the floor in order to shift gears; if even the carpet mats get between the pedal and the floor, it makes shifting gears pretty difficult. the clutch is NOT slipping though, so i don't want to change the pressure plate, release bearings, etc. just yet (nagtitipid din kasi eh, hehehe..)

however, the excessive free play bothers me. if i adjust the free play adjustment screw so that there is NO free play, the clutch is already half-depressed or so. i don't have any leaks because my brake fluid level is OK, not going down.

since replacing the clutch master cylinder is a cheap fix, i was wondering if doing this would fix the problem of excessive free play. the existing pushrod down there acts like a busted strut: no resistance for 70% of its motion.

try mo na i-bleed? or maybe you just need to replace the rubber piston cups on the slave cylinder, or the seals in the master? try mo muna, cheaper nga than overhauling your clutch and then finding out there is nothing wrong with it.

Stand on your head on the driver's floorboards.

See where the clutch pedal attaches to the piston? Loosen the nuts and adjust accordingly.

The adjustment will move the piston in relation to the clutch pedal.

Do mark the original position. You will need this when you replace the clutch.

How about yung clutch pedal na naii-stock sa gitna after depressing it then pipitik uli sa normal position niya after a few second. Ginamitan ko ng WD40 then nung una ok na then siguro nung na washed-out na yung wd-40 balik na naman. Anyone of you expierenced this? BTW the vehicle is a 1995 Civic Esi.

Sa umaga minsan ganyan yung sakin. Although nawawala after a bit of driving.

I think the problem is within the piston itself.

Nung nasira yung clutch ko, I got home without using the clutch pedal.

I just rev-matched to shift. Sa stoplight, I let the engine die then start it in first gear. Mga tricks na natutunan namin sa off-road driving.

Si Karding ang nagpaliwanag niyan dati, eh. Medyo kailangan ng guesstimation (in short, chamba).

Hmmm...research ko muna sa net ang magandang paliwanag.
