Guys,
I noticed that when I press the clutch, certain noise tends to disappear and re appears when not pressed. What's this? I don't see any problem with the clutch yet because I am not experiencing any slide.... thanks in advance...

gregg_g::: Symptom of a misaligned clutch release bearing. Nothing to be alarmed about. This part will still perform its task until your clutch needs replacement. Btw, how far has your vehicle travelled? You may need to be wary of clutch slipping sooner or later.
How many years na ba yun Car mo? if it's older than 5 years then it could be of the FF reasons;
1st - if the sound is like a Jungle Rattle then it could be the loose springs of your clutch disc.
2nd - if it's caused by a vibration, it could be your plywheel or pressure plate having uneven surface bcoz of wear and tear.
3rd - if squeaking noise, it could be your clutch pushrod hitting the rim of the master liner w/c is caused by misaligned or loose bolts of your master.
4th - if it's still new i suggest you have it checked w/ your Casa to avoid voiding wrnty.
Oh i see that u hav a Mit Paj, if it's from subic, better chk the alignment of the push rods and the pivoting points of the clutch pedal itself.
WD40 could solve the noise but its temporary solution only...
ganito rin sakin...may ingay na nawawala pag naka apak ako sa clutch..pag naka release...may ingay.

I had a similar problem before ( a ringing sound) and it turned out to be the release bearing.
88,000 kms ang mileage. does this affect the transfer of power from the engine to the wheels?
andy
luckytruck::: No adverse effect on engine power loss.
used to have that squeaky sound in my ride (Civic 96), it turned out that the linkage that moves the clutch to the pressure plate needs lube. anyway, everything seems to be fine after i had it oiled.
so unless the clutch is slipping na talaga, this won't affect the power of the unit. is that correct?
thanks,
andy
Yup, probably a release bearing. Mine has the same symptoms. You can just replace it when the time comes to replace your clutch disc. Don't worry about anything happening. My last two cars did the same thing.
It has no involvement in power transfer. It just facilitates clutch disengagement/engagement without affecting clamping force or any other parameter associated with power transfer.

thanks otep, as you can probably tell, i am still trying to figure out my rpm versus speed issue. di pa ako nakapunta sa Betan kasi wala pang panahon magpa-davao.
i guess the clutch has been eliminated as a possible problem source

Gregg,
I am actually experiencing the same problem right now. Most people say that it is the release bearing but I doubt it coz I just had my clutch assy replaced (original parts) recently. Anyway, I had it checked again last wednesday sa servitek and just to be sure, I had my release bearing replaced again (orig part) coz I was thinking of a factory defect on the replaced release bearing (since bago pa ito). To my dissapointment, up to now, may ingay pa rin, so its really not the release bearing in my case. Sabi nung mekaniko sa servitek baka main drive bearing daw...??? Whats this? Well, pinapabayaan ko nalang muna coz ok naman ang performance...like new!
About the squeaking sound, grasa lang ang katapat niyan.
Djerms,
Visited Mitsubishi yesterday and they said its pressure plate that's making some noise... Anyway, I will just have to wait by the time I will be experiencing clutch slipping... thanks...
release bearing yan for sure
mas mahirap naman kung while not press dun maingay..
Olive,
