    hello po mga sirs and masters

    i'm a newbie here in tsikot. i read all the forum topics here and it is very, VERY interesting for us amateur drivers who wants to know the concepts of car troubleshooting and maintenance. although matagal2 na rin po ako nagddrive eh aaminin ko pong kakapirangot pa lang mga nalalaman ko about sa mga mechanical problems and how to deal with it.

    eniwei, may mga questions lang po ako. actually basic lang po and silly, pero for my information na rin po, since i'm new in a/t vechicles.

    1.) when stopping on a stoplight, kelangan ko pa ba iengage yung stick sa N or sa P?? o dapat nakafullpress brake lang ako kahit nasa D yung stick.

    2.) kung kelangan mag N every i stop, hindi po ba masisira ang tranny ko kung N at D ako vice versa??

    3.) nakakasira po ba ng tranny kapag naka N ka, then nagshift ka sa D sabay nagmedium press ka sa accelerator instead of light press na muna?? kung baga eh binigla ko ung pagsilyador ko after magshift. kase nung ginawa ko un, parang nabugbog ata tranny ko nun. i think twice na nangyari un.

    4.) pag magpapark na ko, ang ginagawa ko muna is full stop, then N, tapos handbrake. then pagkapatay ng kotse, saka ko pa lang ililipat to P. hindi po ba masisira ung tranny ko??

    5.) may chance ba na mapapaconvert ko ang a/t to m/t?? at magkano kung sakaling pede xa gawin??


    napakasimple lang at basic ang tanong ko po, pero i just want to make sure na hindi ko masisira ang tranny, since marami daw nagsasabi na pangit daw ang a/t kase pag nasira eh napakamahal ng pyesa. yun lang po mga sirs.. salamat po in advance

    1. Kung matagal ka naka stop mas maganda ilagay muna sa neutral para hindi mag creep forward ang kotse...hindi na stressed ang transmission at pati na din ang brakes hindi pwersado.

    2. Basta pag mag shift ka between N at D at vice versa, make sure na stationary ang sasakyan.

    3. Hintayin mo muna mag engage ang transmission bago apakan ang gas pedal. Masama yung binibigyan mo na gas tapos hindi pa fully nasa Drive ang sasakyan.

    4. Kahit naka-on pa ang makina pwede mo na ilagay sa Park ang transmission.

    5. Meron pero bakit? Kung maayos naman ang matic trans sayang ang pera sa pag convert, mahal na ang labor mahal pa ang parts lalo na kung brand new ang ipapalit.

    Kung maalaga ka sa kotse at yung nakuha mo 2nd hand ay naalagaan din, wala kang problema. Pero kung laspag gumamit ang may ari, kahit manual trans pa yan...masisira at masisira pa din. Kaya matic man or manual, dapat may preventive maintenance sked gaya ng pag change ng transmission fluid sa recommended interval.

    Alaga lang sa Atf fluid at gamitin mo iyong reccomended para sa sasakyan mo tatagal ang transmission at gagaang pa ang takbo ng sasakyan.

    *CivicVTI, bago po yung kotse sir.. worried lang po ako minsan since lage malayuan ang drive ko. araw2 eh 350km ang byahe ko, back and forth. dito po kase ako saudi eh. pero salamat po sa advice. mahirap na po kase masiraan ng kotse sa byahe, lalo pa't highway ang daan ko lage. eniwei, salamat po sa advice. post na lang po ulit ako kung may mga questions pa ko. salamat mga masters

    Sir, ano po ba ang recommended na ATF for nissan exalta 2002? marami pong salamat.

    The best ATF for your car is the one recommended by the owners manual. ATF is critical to the life of your AT. Don't assume that aftermarket ATF is better than OEM. It's a common misconception.

    sir, nabili ko po kasi ng second hand at walang kasamang manual. hindi ko po makontak yung dating may-ari para itanong kung ano ang ginagamit nya before.

    Kung maalaga ka sa kotse at yung nakuha mo 2nd hand ay naalagaan din, wala kang problema. Pero kung laspag gumamit ang may ari, kahit manual trans pa yan...masisira at masisira pa din.     3. hmm. tatalon ang auto pag ganun. (strong jerk). although hindi naman maiiwasan yun lalo na kapag gitgitan dito sa metro

    4. its Driver's discretion. no bad effects kahit ano unahin mo

    5. Not recommended.. gumastos ka lang at hindi sure ang safety ng pagkakaconvert nyan. I'd personally rather not.

    Free wheeling an A/T vehicle is harmless BUT shifting from D to N (and vice versa) while in motion is not recommended. It puts unnecessary strain on the transmission. Downshifting from D to 3 or 2 or L is ok though as long as the speed is within the limits of the gear being shifted to.

    sir, ibig sabihin eh pede ko ifreewheel ung a/t pag downhill ang daan ko?? hindi po ba masisira ang tranny nun?? tsaka pag panay N at D ako vice-versa kahit na saglit lang nakastop, hindi po ba masisira tranny ko

    If you want your AT to last, drive it like an AT and not a manual. Put it in D and leave it there unless you are going up or down a steep incline and need it to remain in the lower gears. If you are at a stop step on the brakes and step on the gas when you are ready to move. The reason you have an AT is so you won't have to do the shifting anymore like in a manual but if that is what you want to do then it would be better to get a manual transmission car. Everything you need to know about driving an AT car is in the owners manual.

    Never put any vehicle in N or Neutral if driving downhill (some call this "Angel Gear"),- it is very dangerous!.... Meaning, it could kill you....

    Noon iyon,- sirain ang A/T... But now, they're very reliable.

    Agree here. If you have an A/T car, drive it like one.... No need to put it in N when stopping,- just step on the brake....

    I usually put it to N so that if and when I someone bumps me from behind, my tranny won't get damaged.

    Ok lang naman. The tranny won't let you skip a gear anyway. The shifting sequence is guided by speed and engine RPM.

    Tama ang sequence na yan lalo na sa inclines.

    Meron, but it will take a very skilled fellow to do that - at medyo mahirap humanap ng mga tao na ganun, ang marami yung nagmamarunong at yayariin ka nila. hehehe.

    may mga kakilala po ba kaung tao na nakapagreplace na ng tranny and so far eh wala pa naman nasira, or opposite sa wala pang nasisira?? kung meron man sir, may kakilala po ba kau

    try to ask nissan casa. they know it for sure.
