Help on my 2002 Kia Sedona A/T please?

i previously bought a second hand 2002 kia sedona RS Automatic transmizion with a 2.9L turbo diesel engine (for my kids and my wife).. its very nice with all its features, plus the captain seats and dvd player makes it very relaxing for my family..

i have a problem tho, i havent compared any other sedonas with mine.. i only looked at 1 unit.. and right there and then i bought it..

The problem is, i cant feel the acceleration?.. i mean it feels like it always starts at 2nd gear?.. tho it has a function wer u could choose to use "Economical" or "Power" mode for the vehicle.. but it hardly makes a difference.. especially when driving up in car parks, namely Trinoma & megamall?.. need ko pang ilagay sa "L" para maka ahon ako... pag nakalgay sa "D" para cyang naka 2nd or 3rd gear habang paakyat.. edi cyempre hirap cya..

by the way, the shifting is very smooth.. so i cant say kung may problem sa transmission or meron..

any people here have tried using a sedona?.. is this normal??.. please advice.. di nko makatulog thinking na may defect ung auto na nabili ko... thank you

Had a similar problem with the Patrol. Hanggang 20kph lang ang takbo going up the steep road out of the village.

Turns out it was due to clogged air and fuel filters. The engine ECU kept on going into 'limp-home' mode because not enough air and fuel were getting to the engine.

Replaced both with originals and I'm zooming once again. :D

Same here... since you just bought it recently (i presume), give the car a general service. Change the fuel filters, air filters and maybe even try using some biodiesel to help purge the lines prior to changing your fuel filter. Change the tranny fluid (ATF) as well and the other fluids (brake, coolant, oil, PS...) and check the condition of the belts and hoses (rubber parts can tend to be less durable on the earlier Korean cars IMO).

yup, have an oil change, fuel filter replacement and air filter replacement done.

check narin the condition of the rest of the fluids and it should be better after that.
