    tama ba yun???

I think, someone correct me if I'm wrong, one of the reasons why oil prices was deregulated is because of pressures from the international financial institutions, like IMF and WB.

Deregulating oil prices was one of their prerequisites for our country to avail more loans with good terms(?) and for the financial institutions to classify the Philippines as good investment destination. You know how influential this bastards are!

    Damn.

Some lawmakers are accusing the big oil players (Caltex, Shell and Petron) are in cahoots with each other to bring the fuel prices skyhigh. Now that's something to look at.

    No offense Chieffy.

in theory, when one would read thru the law it's suppose to encourage competition meaning better pricing since each company would want the greater part of the market share. the problem arose when instead of competing with one another, they practiced a certain monopolistic oligopoly which is the reason we are in such a disposition.

As for the lawmakers implying that the Big Three are in cahoots to jack-up the oil prices, you might want to ask, why only now are they looking at this angle?

IMHO, some government officials are also in cahoots with the Big Three. What will they gain if they kiss-ass with the Big Three you might ask, maybe a place at the Board or top management in one of the Big Three once their so-called public service days are over.

mas maraming choices pa nga ang mga motorists ngayon because of this law...

Yung time ni Marcos, merong Oil Price Stabilization Fund.
During those times, masyadong mabigat na yung 1 peso increase
in pump prices.

National Oil Co. (Petron). Dati rati ang PNOC
ang price stabilizer. Di makapagtaas ang Caltex at Shell dahil
hindi nagtataas ang Petron. Tapos ang Petron had cheaper sources
of crude oil aside from Saudi Arabia. They got oil from Libya and China
at much cheaper prices. Kaya at that time, stable ang presyo.

Walang dapat sisihin talaga kundi itong EDSA Revolution. Mula noon,
(example Oil Deregulation at PPA sa Electric bill)...

Mas humirap pa tuloy buhay natin ngayon.
Just in case you're not looking, the Peso
Dollar exchange rate will shortly be breaching
    the 55:1 mark.
    God help us all!!

did you know that ibebenta ng govt. ang share nilang 40% sa Petron, before nabili ng govt. natin yun 40% shares sa petron for 21 Billion pesos, rite now ibebenta nila for 6 billion na lang.eh di lalo na magkakaloko-loko ang prices ng oil dahil before Petron is the stabilizer ng price
