tuwing kelan ba dapat kino-confiscate ang lisensya? Last week kasi nahuli yung friend ko around Isuzu Alabang area because of not wearing the seatbelt. Nagulat ako kasi kailangan daw agad kunin license niya. Turns out na dalawa pala sila that time na nagmemerienda.

Kung nagmemerienda sila they're technically off duty. I wouldn't give my license to them, I'd just drive away really.
You must show it, but they cannot confiscate it unless the violation you made merits confiscation of the license (something like third offense of the same type, but then again who really records these things for each driver?).

Hmmm.. yun din po naisip ko kaso bata pa kasi yung friend ko and lightly tinted lang yung car na gamit nya that time. Akala siguro rich teenager na mauuto para may lagay sila.

mga sira-ulo talaga yung mga traffic enforcers dyan sa alabang area, starting dyan sa may acacia area up to the filinvest area. mabilis silang magpauso ng mga violations dyan.
but since your friend really violated the seat belt law, he should have been ISSUED A CITATION TICKET, NOT HAD HIS LICENSE CONFISCATED. imho, may regulation na ang supreme court dyan that the only guys who can get licenses are from the LTO, afaik.

my license was confiscated at the nlex exit northbound due to over speeding (124 kph) along san fernando - dau portion. Anybody can advise me on how to redeem it at the LTO East ave (where in LTO East ave? ang laki nun) and how much is the penalty? The enforcer informed me that tmy license can be redeemed after 3 days.
Thanks for the advice.

May 5th, 2008 01:05 AM #8I attended a seminar before and the speaker was formerly with the traffic arbitration group of MMDA and he said these are the only instances where they can confiscate the license:
1. You are involved in an accident
2. You have not settled your previous penalties
3. You are a serial violator

Choice I would have made as well.
