Warning - VA Rufino (Herrera) two-way starting Sept 1

Tomorrow, VA Rufino (formerly Herrera St) will be two way na. They had installed additional traffic lights in the vicinity. Expect crazy traffic due to more stop lights in the area.

IMO, this will be chaotic.

Although this may alleviate the guys coming from the south, it would be a headache coming from the north. I had the time to observe kanina sa corner ng V.A. Rufino and Valero. Took some shots.




This is one of the many people who rolled down their windows either inquiring or cursing the traffic enforcers at the intersection.


Of course not all were properly informed so marami pa rin ng counterflow, to the ire of the traffic enforcers again.



There were more time that no cars were crossing the intersection as the other lane was go but the cars were still stuck at Ayala.


And more often than not, most cars just turned into Valero rather than going straight to Leviste.


Some other things that I noted but wasn't able to take pictures of were the cars were really backed up in Leviste and San Agustin. Horns were blaring left and right. Ingress and egress into PBCom Tower is a challenge, among other things.

took me almost 15 mins to turn right at VA Rufino coming from skyway down ramp

took me around 30 minutes from magallanes area at the skyway to rufino street earlier.

If coming from Paseo de Roxas going to Valero, will the best route be:
1. turn right at Ayala,
2. turn right at Rufino,
3. turn right at Valero?

instead of the usual:
1. turn right at Villar (Citibank),
2. turn left at LP Leviste,
3. turn left at Rufino,
4. turn left at Valero,

Problem with the new route is the presence of buses, jeepneys, FXs

napaka-traffic na nga kapag manggagaling ka ng Smart building parking pa-merge ng Valero tuwing rush hour (5pm to 7pm) tapos lalo pang lumala dahil sa 2 way na ito. doon palang aabutin ka na ng 30 - 1hr sa traffic.
