To add, high-beams are meant to be used conservatively and only under the correct conditions. Avoid using it when there are vehicles within 200 meters in front of you. That includes vehicles driving in front of you and those coming from the opposite lane.

As a point of reference, the Mabini Bridge (formerly Nagtahan Bridge) has a span of about 150 meters.
Also, high-beams allows you to see overhead signages on EDSA and the expressways. If you have to use the high-beam to read them at night and with cars in front of you, do so sparingly.
