Main purpose of high beam?

Para san ba talaga ito?

Para sa malalabo ang mata at hirap sa gabi mag maneho?
To signal sa nasa unahan mong sasakyan na bigyan ka ng daan?
Sa mga province na madidilim ang daan?

Napansin ko yung mga driver sa province, ginagamit nila pag gabi sa mga curves, to inform daw dun sa opposite lane na wag mag overtake kasi may sasakyan na padaan sa curve.

High beams throw light further down the road. It's also wider than the low beams. It gives you ample time to react to obstacles at highway speeds.

Of course you have to switch back to low beams when another vehicle is ahead regardless of if they're going the opposite way or in the same direction.

On my own experience, ginagamit ko yung hi beam kapag:

-walang kasalubong/walang sasakyan sa harap ko para mas makita ko yung dadaanan ko
-to give signal dun sa nasa harapan ko na mag-overtake ako
-kapag magovertake ako para makita ko kung meron bang something sa harap pag nagovertake

okay lang po ba yung ganyang habit?

Then try highbeams...and try standing in front of your car...maybe 4 car lengths away

To add, high-beams are meant to be used conservatively and only under the correct conditions. Avoid using it when there are vehicles within 200 meters in front of you. That includes vehicles driving in front of you and those coming from the opposite lane.

Also, high-beams allows you to see overhead signages on EDSA and the expressways. If you have to use the high-beam to read them at night and with cars in front of you, do so sparingly.

Use it in roads with low light, but you have to switch it off if there's a car just in front of you (3 to 4 cars away) or if there's a car approaching from the opposite direction.

Kanina sa SM north parking dun sa off ramp pababa from level 6, nag On ng led roof bar yung nasa likod ko na black montero. I stopped and put my gear in reverse. 55 watts yung reverse lights ko e. Di ako umabante kahit wala na car sa harap ko. Di pa din naintindihan ng kumag bakit naka reverse ako, binusinahan pa ako. So I lowered my window and shouted at him, "Off mo led bar mo! Pang off road lang yan!" Saka lang off ni kumag. Some people talaga!
