This is one of my worst nightmares. I used to pass JP Rizal regularly when I was working in Ortigas and I'm glad I don't have to anymore! I couldn't forget when I passed the area before sun down and it was "kulimlim". The water was so dark and still, it gave me goosebumps. I also avoid the bridge in Estrella to Mandaluyong.

My brother also had an accident in EDSA Guadalupe when his car turn turtled. Pinagtatawanan namin buti hindi nahulog sa ilog, and he said he would probably die from bacteria in the water before drowning. I also saw the video of the car sinking on FB and nobody attempted to jump in. I wonder if it's because it happened in Pasig river?

It's not even wise to jump in and try to save the victim on a sinking car.

well, perhaps they will jump in if they were there. not many people know about the danger of trying to help in unknown situations.

Baka mahirapan ding lumangoy dahil sa burak. plus the sinking car beside you.

would I risk my life for some stranger? hell no, now if that was my family I'll risk it.

only if i know how to do it...
just knowing how to swim isn't enough.

it's not as easy as crossing edsa on a busy day..

and to the critics... sabi nga ni ka susan... "atat na atat ka.. mauna ka!"

Yup, rescue swimming is not for anyone to do even if you are a strong swimmer.

    mahirap kasi may pressure:

It looks like it is at least 100 feet deep. What a way too die. Sa mabahong Ilog Pasig pa

Pasig river is only 3-5meter above sea level. In 5-10years time. At 0.5-1cm increment per year. I dont remember the forecasted figures but It will only be 2-2.5m above sea level after 10yrs. Residents will suffer tremendous flooding.

Yeah dying with shyt in the mouth. Then vomiting but going to your lungs.

1000 ways to die? Is that the name of the show?

oh wow! I learned something new, it wasn't as deep as I imagined it to be. The passenger was very lucky to escape. So either you get out of the car as soon as it hits the water or you let it submerge fully before you can open the door.

I would suppose if it did not happen in Pasig river someone might have jumped in (though it's not the right thing to do)
