july 23... the night manila stopped!

hayup talaga, umalis ako ng new manila ng 3:30 or so PM for ateneo... ang lakas ng ulan!! ma-trapik sa E. Rodriguez Sr. at sa accss roads from e. rodriguez to kamuning. matrapik din sa timog, may kasikipan sa east. ave, at may konting baha sa Q.C. circle. time: past 4:00



i exit at commonwealth and onto university drive... and onto C.P. Garcia, ANAK NG TOKWA! traffic sa c. p. garcia all the way to the university drive junction! dali, u-turn... sa UP oval nalang ako dadaan. kaso lang... backed up din yung traffic sa oval na mismo, all the way to schuster st. palabas ng balara (katipunan ext.)



holy crap... i was at this damn spot at the schuster-katipunan ext. intersection for almost two hours, mga two feet lang ata nausad namin hehehe. pinatay ko na nga yung makina ko hehe, tapos bumaba na ako at one point at tumambay dun sa tindero ng saging sa may kanto ng schuster hehehe. binaba ko na rin bintana ko tapos dinaldal yung mga driver sa kabilang lane hehehehe. maliwanag pa naman e...



holy sweet kamote... ang dilim na! lampas 6:00 na at papalapit palang ako ng c.p. garcia-katipunan junction, just a few hundred meters away from the site of the previous pic! plus, my low fuel warning lit up a few minutes ago! aaargh! PUTEK, ANG DILIM NA!!



mother of God...! traffic is backed up for kilometers and kilometers on both sides of Katipunan Ave., hindi pa ako nakakalampas ng c.p. garcia nito ha! this was taken on 4x optical zoom, on a 1-second shutter (hence the bright-looking sky) time: 6:15 PM



i-Bank pa lang! time: around 6:40 PM... good lordy, GABI NA!. i reach KFC at well past 7:00, and i just parked my car in that area!

i walked all the way to the overpass since i just had to take photos of this monumental traffic jam hehehe...

this is katipunan southbound, almost 7:30 i think. hanggang balara, UP inner roads, at halos hanggang QC circle at malamang hanggang tandang sora yung pila!



this is katipunan northbound, same time (note the disruptive u-turn slot and the helpless MMDA men):



look at that queue... hanggang libis na ata yang pila! (taken at max. tele, f/4.8, with shaky hands hehe)



these vehicles making a u-turn (they can't move on since katipunan northbound is all jammed up as well) are blocking the whole southbound road! no traffic on the southbound flyover, pero hayup yung traffic papuntang aurora blvd. at kamias (at yung u-turn slot sa ilalim ng flyover!)



i left the area at past 10:00, and katipunan southbound was STILL jammed up LIKE THIS at that time, all the way up to the middle of c.p. garcia. sobrang trapik pa rin papuntang aurora at kamias.

putek na trapik yan! tumigil naman yung ulan by 4:30 or so... bakit nga ba ang trapik sa buong manila kahapon??

hanep, mahigit tatlong oras para sa 9 or 10 km na biyahe! at pauwi nung maghahating-gabi na, mga one hour!

and to think that this commute usually takes just 20 minutes!

kakaibang trapik to... bumaha daw hanggang bewang sa katipunan sa may national bookstore nung umulan ng malakas nung mga 4:00 sabi ni glennster, pero tumigil din naman yung ulan ha... bakit kaya hanggang gabi ganyan pa rin yung trapik?? :whoa:

ung friend ko nga e... galing sa tierra pura. normally, he leaves work at 6pm and arrives at 6:30-6:45 at eastood just in time for the 7pm work. kaso kagabi dumating sya at around 11:30pm na.

ako naman galing eastwood, papuntang tierra pura, aba!! ayaw magsakay ng mga taxi at nagpapadagdag ng P100.00!!! lech! sa awa ng dyos, 1:30 am na ko nakauwi...

sa pedestrian flyover yan kinuha. yung malapit sa jollibee katipunan. ako i left work (tektite) at around 6, arrived at chef and brewer sa emerald mga 6:15. left mga 12mn, may hinatid sa pasay, nakauwi nako 1am grabe super late na, pero walang trafik!! bwahahaha! :evillaugh joke lang marvs :D

Olympus C-5060WZ hehe... actually, medyo blurred yung mga pics pag full size, between 1/2 to 1 second kasi yung shutter speed (f/2.8 at the wide end, f/4.8 at the tele end, ISO 80), much too slow to be handheld without camera shake.

ako dalawang oras natraffic..from psba daan ng katipunan-P.tuazon going back to aurora-anonas..buti na lang pagdating ng kalayaan-circle-visayas maluwag na..!! nawala ang P100 sa gas ko dun..

mabuti na lang kumain muna kami ng dinner sa David's Tea House (hindi sa Rizal Ave. ah) sa Timog. 9pm na kami natapos. then sa may V. Luna hospital traffic na. nag left turn ako sa isang side street. Then right sa kalayaan ulit, nakaw!!! traffic pa rin, tapos as anonas - traffic, then nag UP ako tapos Katipunan Traffic. hindi na ako nakaabot dun sa mga mirriam students sic. nag u-turn ako papuntang tandang sora right sa commonwealth ave diretsong batasan-san mateo tapos marikina na. walang traffic sa area na ito. good thing we were in a samurai, daling isingit kahit sa sidewalk no problem. home at 10:30pm.

Well, same situation in my area last night, sa may Vito Cruz. My class ended at around 4:40, but when I checked out the the traffic sa labas ng school, di halos gumagalaw. Sinabayan din ng labas ng St.Scho and ulan. I decided to stay in my org's office 'til 7:45. Nawala na yung traffic pero umuulan pa rin.

Anyway, ganda ng picutres ha.
