From carguide dot ph. Buti na lang. Itigil na iyang gimicky hidden handles. Hindi naman maganda gamitin.

"China takes the lead in vehicle safety as it becomes the first country in the world to ban concealed door handles.

The new law which takes effect on January 1, 2027, will have the design feature popularized by Tesla, and now used by countless other EVs and even hybrids, outlawed. Models that have already been approved by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will have until January 1, 2029 to change their designs."

They should also have a mechanical linkage to open the door if you pull it hard enough, as a backup (assuming it's unlocked), and not be solely dependent on servos and actuators, which are known to fail in a crash due to power loss.

Which likely will not be hidden so might as well do away with the hidden handle altogether.

Kind of reminds me of the almost fatal accident of the son of NBA star Gilbert arenas last year. The kid crashed his dad's Tesla cyber truck and almost got burned alive in the vehicle. It was a Good thing good samaritans were able to trash the windows of the vehicle and pull the high schooler out of the fiery wreck. The good hearted passers-by apparently had a problem opening the doors of the Tesla.

Fortunately, the youngster had no major injuries although he was placed in a medically induced coma due to excessive smoke inhalation.
