Use it in roads with low light, but you have to switch it off if there's a car just in front of you (3 to 4 cars away) or if there's a car approaching from the opposite direction.

I'm using my high beam kapag sobrang dilim ng daan. Switch it off kapag may kasalubong.

Pero madalas ko talagang ginagamit high beam kapag yung kasalubong ko e ayaw magpatay ng high beam. Babarilin ko rin siya ng high beam ko.

    - sa probinsya, pinipitik ko to during daytime to tell tricycle drivers na naka ON yung headlight nila.[emoji28]
    - pinipitik ko rin to during daytime to acknowledge yung mga nakaka salubong kong kakilala ko (gawain din to ng mga driver ng provincial buses pag may nakaka salubong silang kapwa nila bus)
    - pitik sa mga akyat-baba na daan.
Minsn nakakaloko yung mga sasakyan nakakasalubong mo na naka hi beam at iisa lang ang headlight(right), akala mo tricycle or motor, late mo na malalaman yun pala jeep/kotse.

I rarely use my HBs, even if i'm alone on a dark road as the low beams are usually sufficient enough.

I use my HBs when my speed is >60kph in a lonely dimly lit provincial roads. I want my vision can sweep those unexpected guys crossing and those motorbike/trike with no tail lights.

    Some uses of high-beam:

    1. For unlit roads - this could be provincial road, village street, highway with busted street lights, etc. You MAY use high-beam whenever desired EXCEPT:
    a. When there is oncoming traffic or car in front of you because you will blind them with this.
    b. Be courteous too for pedestrians, masakit sa mata to.

    2. As signal (use it even it's Daytime):
    a. Flash your high-beam twice quickly if the oncoming car uses high-beam and you are blinded by it.
    b. When taking turns in an intersection, you may signal the oncoming traffic to give you chance to go first. They may or may not give you way. Do not force yourself in just because you signalled. Make sure to thank them if they give-way, by honking once. (I turn-off-on my headlights as way of thanking other drivers).
    c. On curved roads or streets/intersections where you can't see oncoming traffic - You should signal twice or just keep the high-beam on for them to notice there's a car going the opposite way. Some stupid drivers overtake on curves.

Off-topic tip: In Japan, people are very courteous, they thank other drivers who give way by letting hazzard lights blink twice! (I do this too!)
