As you can see, mga 7 out of 10 drivers ang nagdri-drive ng naka-slippers.

Actually, all PUV drivers are required to dress properly with a collared shirt, pants, and shoes. But sadly, nobody's getting caught so they just make do with unhygienic practices. For private vehicles, since we won't be ferrying complete strangers, I think we're allowed to wear slippers when driving as long as we won't make a fool of ourselves with smelly feet.

Know what, I've heard over the radio that in Hawaii, a person who has a terrible smell is banned from any form of public transport or risk being fined $500.

Dunno where to find that ruling about not wearing slippers when driving, but I think one of the reasons is that the thong/"dahon" might get caught on the pedals and create untoward incidents/accidents.

I myself prefer driving barefoot (with socks, if I was wearing shoes upon riding). I feel more in control of the pedals that way.

Aside: I also make a habit of removing my shoes while seated at my office workstation. This way, my feet won't develop a nasty smell.

So more on naka-socks nalang din.

(alangan namang todo get-up pa ako hehe diba)

I know a few who drives barefooted.

It's a P1000 fine for driving with slippers. Actually, you won't be apprehended for just driving with slippers, since enforcers can't actually see whether you have shoes or not (Only motorcyle drivers can be easily spotted wearing slippers), but this infraction may be slapped on you when ever you are apprehended for another violation.. My driver was apprehended for a minor traffic violation, he walks out of the van, and voila! he was slapped with this violation instead. Turns-out my driver had a swollen toe, but the LTO NCR officer was unforgiving. We decided to pay the fine instead when we claimed his license.

Turned-out, you can contest this citation as long as you have a doctor's certifcate to bring when you claim your license.

Inapply itong law na ito sa driving because pwede daw itong sanhi ng accidents on the road (sumabit ang slippers) and professionalism on "professional" drivers (public utility drivers).

Last, not all the times you will wear your shoes when you go out, like I said sa taas, mamamalengke lang ako, todo get-up pa hehe.

How 'bout sandals?

Pero when I go to work syempre shoes ang suot ko.
