As we were threading the floods along C5 near Libis QC, the rush of the water was so strong that we lost our front number plate. The current may have push the lower portion of the plate that tilted forward the upper portion, unclipping the bumper moulding / plate holder. Sayang, it included the Euro plate, the Euro plate frame, the BMW bumper moulding cum plate holder.

Would anyone know the procedure or have any contact at LTO, re: replacement of lost plate?

Would we be considered under the "no plate / no vehicle use" policy now that we have no front plate?

Are we not allowed to use the vehicle now until it is re-issued a duplicate plate?

    Thanks for your input.

You can use your car BUT you will need a clearance from the LTO regarding the lost plate and its replacement (six months).

You will have to file an affidavit and have it notarized before you submit it to the LTO. Not sure how long it will take but your new plate will now have a small d in the middle.

Ei, once you have tried this can you ask if you can change the number altogether?

request ka na rin ng permit to use a temporary plate.

I also experienced that (but didn't lose the plate before).

Kaya pala pinagtatawanan ako ng mga tao... ng plate was folded upwards after passing throught the flood.

Oh man, hassle naman if it will take that long.
Pwede kaya parang nag pa re-issue ka na lang ng bagong format na plate (rizal plate?).

It happened in front of what used to be Uniwide, now Wilcon.

maybe... you could place a goldfish inside after passing though a flooded street.

seriously, depends what gave way. If its the screw holes, then even using a plate deflector wouldn't have helped. If the plate simply got folded up, then it would have prevented that.

You can also transfer your plates at the back to the front para pwede pa gamitin kahit paano yung kotse...

Or buy vanity plates for your rear plates.

BMW plate holders are incorporated in the bumper moulding, clip type lang. The bottom part of the license plate has no back support, so a strong current will push it down and towards the back, and would simply unclip the top. The plate is screwed to the plastic holder but the holders are not screwed to the bumper, just clipped.

Almost lost mine. It started to float but the bolts held. Nakaharap tuloy sa langit after. hehehe.

Try mo contact si Olet Mojica. Eto number nya. 09202099836.

Kuha mo new Rizal plates in 2 to 3 weeks. Kelangan nya yung original OR (pero ibabalik din naman sayo when you claim the new plates) plus cost of P1,500.

Papalitan na ang design ng plates. Hindi na Rizal monument. Si Pacquiao na yata ang ilalagay.

I lost a plate a long time ago, but not due to flood. I forgot the procedures on how to apply for the replacement. What I remember is that it took a very very long time (about 6 months) before the replacement plates (1 set) were issued.

you should notify the LTO about the lost plate because if you dont, and someone finds the lost plate and uses it in a crime, you might be liable for not reporting the lost plate.
