Yes, I am in favor of removing all the humps. Now, if all the humps in our country were as perfect as those found in posh villages, I'd say no.

No... just recondition them to be of proper specs.. they are there for a reason... in some countries they are called speed bumps!.. mainly to slow down the car in areas where they are supposed to slow down... and knowing the mentality of some racer wannabees.. removing them would result to cars speeding in residential areas.

and dont tell me kaya mo gustong tanggalin eh para makatakbo yung sasakyan mong sobrang lowered. Whoeever told you to lower it in the first place?.. eh sa kondisyon ng kalsada natin.. it isnt even a good idea.

    Yun lang po.

Yes. But not all. Meron namang talagang humps na dapat nandun. Although dapat visible sya and painted yellow. Or may advance warning like sign posts.

Regarding the maliliit malalaki, Pag wide open road like white plains, mas maganda yang mahahaba, something like 3-4 feet distance. Ganito yata dapat speed bump d ba? Just like in subic.
Tsaka yung mga hump na before and after a bridge. Sobrang engot ang nakaisip maglagay nito.

yes, but not all humps. they should have standard specifications for humps to avoid the "panget" humps, and they should demolish humps placed within a certain distance of each other to avoid a series of humps over a short distance that holds up traffic unnecessarily. illegal humps, like tire strips placed in side streets, should be removed as well

if only pinoy drivers are disciplined, many of the humps should be replaced by stop signs (like in intersections or school areas)

i like the idea specially if white plains comes into mind... kahit yata hindi lowered eh sasayad.

anyway, the idea is just right if the road is a national road and really a busy street. yung tipo bang pang motorist lang talaga. i don't agree kapag yung sa loob na ng subdivision ang ipapatanggal specially if it's strictly residential and not for public use. of course merong subdivisions na may roads na pinapagamit sa public just like southwoods... hmmm okay naman humps nila ngayon.

i'm in favor of removing the humps that are illegally constructed, especially those that come before and after a sari-sari store, or those on secondary roads that are constructed by people in front of their houses for no other reason than to slow the cars down so their kids will be safer. heck, if that was the only justification needed, then there would be humps in front of every other house in the metropolis

i especially despise humps before and after those makeshift basketball courts on minor roads (grrr!)

I'm in favor for removing the humps around Metro Manila, especially those ones which are a foot wide and 6 inches tall!! Usually those kinds are found in squatter areas or similar depressed areas. The streets aren't a playground for kids to be running around.

With less humps/bumps to deal with, vehicular traffic will speed up a bit.

Now for those concerned with racer wanna-be peeps who will be speeding around and possibly causing accidents, most of the time accidents aren't caused by them but the media just blows it out of proportion by all the attention. Does the accident caused by a counterflowing car get any media attention? Does an accident caused by a jeep suddenly stopping in the middle of a busy road get any media attention? Does an accident caused by a bus unloading the the foot of a fly-over get any media attention? NO! But a single car getting into an accident because he was going too fast (might it be because he was racing or not) gets too much attention and the media would label it as "drag racing" right away. And then there would be a lot of public noise on how illegal drag racing is making our streets unsafe, etc etc etc...

Heck! Our streets are unsafe!! Unsafe to drive in a sane manner because of the jeepneys & busses who drive as if they own the road. Unsafe because of all the cars & trucks which aren't maintained (brake failure). unsafe because of stupid people trying to suddenly run across a busy road. People who are "drag racing" on the streets should be the least of our problems on the road.

hmm.. let me correct myself.. tama kayo.. remove the "illegal humps" and not the humps that are justified to be there. At dapat controlled by only one department ang creation ng humps.. nde yung kung sino sino lang..

as for the drag racing thing.. i'm not even hitting on the drag racers... they could race all they want.. i've seen drivers, not even drag racers.. who by simply seeing a straight road, in a residential area, would just speed by... sheesh!... call it irresponsible driving.
Lets say yung sa greenmeadows.... if it werent for those humps.. i bet.. and daming maaksidente dun.. sa whiteplains.. yes.. even a stock car would scrape those monstrous humps!.. in fact!... even with those humps.. i still see people speeding in that stretch of road!.. go figure!.. they'll just counter-flow when they reach teh humps.. kasi mas maliit yung sa side ng pasalubong (this is the secondary hump after a gate dun), tapos balik ulit sa kabila...

Yes... the road is unsafe... but i dont see Drag Racing as one of the least problems.. it is a problem.. they are all a problem.. trucks not maintained properly, with wheels flying when they are speeding, jeeps going left and right without any regards to the cars around them, kids being left to play on busy streets... i dont label those problems as least important or most important... we should do ourselves a service by driving responsibly..... start with ourselves. Drag racing on the streets is dangerous... no matter how you look at it. Nde naman ginawa yung kalsada for drag racing eh.. at ang nakakainis pa nyan... inaabala nyo ang already masamang daloy ng traffic!.... go to the strips man!....

pahabol lang po... drag racing perse does not kill.. it is the fact that you are speeding in a public road.. and a lot of factors (not under your control) can contribute to an accident. An accident is an accident.. whether caused by drag racing or not... nagmamabilis ka pa rin.

I agree that our streets are unsafe. All you have to do is go to C5 and see all the jaywalking, counterflowing in the shoulders, and running without lights you want. Our streets are unsafe because we live in a country where traffic laws are merely suggestions.

Granted that the media blows things out of proportion, but that does not remove the fact that people who make the streets of the Metro into their own private Grand Prix track are breaking the law. IMO, I really don't know why people insist on weaving in and out of traffic. May prize ba kapag mauna? May trophy ba kapag mauna? I agree that illegal drag racing makes our streets unsafe. And just because napaginitan ng media yung issue, that doesn't change the fact that drag racing on public streets are illegal. No offense meant, pero reading the post above, parang naging biktima pa yung mga illegal drag racers. I don't agree that drag racing should be the least of our problems... It's a problem therefore it should be dealt with. Just like all the other road problems we have in the Metro.

We should keep the humps and make sure that they are properly constructed. That's the price we have to pay for not respecting STOP signs and running red lights.

Just my 2 cents worth.

2 reasons why I'm in favor of removing the humps:

    - Increased fuel consumption: Once you've run through the humps, you will be forced to shift back to first gear, which gulps gas like a vacuum cleaner!

    - Can ruin suspension and underchassis: Some say that humps may hamper your suspension, especially the tire alignment. Also, the underchassis of loaded cars may hit the hump, and may thereby lead to corrosion and rust.

However, the humps in residential villages must be retained. Instead, these must be shaped well in order to prevent car damages.

alisin ung mga irregular-shaped humps at palitan ng standard-sized humps!!

saka alisin lahat ng istorbo sa daan..

illegally parked cars on busy streets.. daan na ginawang basketball court.. etc.

If not they should control the constructionsof these para consistent or standard ung mga dimensions nito. :x

yup in favor ako. just like other posts, dapat magkaroon ng standardized size of humps sa pilipinas. long and not too high para di hassle sa driver. maganda yung mga humps sa ayala heights subd. and sa loob ng ateneo. kahit anong mangyari, walang sayad, lowered ka man o hinde...
