If the vehicle you're about to drive is past 4,500GVW, then you need to upgrade your restriction code from 2 to 3. But switching to restriction code 3 requires a pro-driving license. Which is another set of test from LTO. Or you could simply re-take some pro license test and add restriction code 3 to your existing code which has 4 code limit.
Don't be misguided from the vehicle's actual weight, LTO has its own guided weight for light trucks even if it doesn't reach the 4,500 weight. They will still consider over it.
With regards to truck ban rules, smaller vans like imported Lite-ace models that have rear double tires are exempted. Light truck (Elf/Fuso/Canter) ruling is not exempted, even if the inner tires are removed. Add to that the accident that could happen. Which it did just recently along SLEX. Btw, trucks are not allowed to enter city limits from 6am-10am and 4pm-8pm.
pag yung lisensiya ay code numero 2 lang, hindi ka pwede gumamit ng motorsiklo? edi ba yung code 2 is for vehicles upto 4500 kgs gvw? di ba dapat kasama na ang 1 doon?
same code but if you are using an automatic. madami akong narinig na nahuli because walang code 4 (for automatic) sa lisensiya.
Check you vehicle's registered weight, if its past 4500GVW. You will be required to have restriction code 3 on your license.
But I still see some trucks doing some rounds on their limited hours.
Law requires a driver to have restriction code 1 for motorcycle or tricycle operations. Even if you have restriction code 2 that has a limit of 4500GVW.
On restriction code 4 for automatic trannys, any driver that has restriction code 2 for that matter can drive both manual and automatic vehicles provided that its upto 45000GVW. Restriction code 4 is only issused to drivers who cannnot drive stick shifts.
If you get apprehended with a restriction code 2 while driving an automatic tranny, you can contest the issued Traffic Violation Receipt and sign it under protest. Then go when your assigned hearing will be honored. TVR will be deemed and void.
dali lang kumuha ng pro if you already have a non-pro for a few years. creditted yung time driving on non-pro license sa pagkaalam ko e. kasi ako i changed my non-pro to pro years back, they just checked the records how long i've had the non-pro. di ko lang sure how many years you should have the non-pro to be able to change it to pro. also, you should be above 21 years old to do so.
