Let me get this right, kung lahat ng roads (except privately owned like sa villages or subdivision), essentially wala nang pwedeng bumisita sa iyo na may dalang kotse? Kasi lahat ng pwede mong parkingan pwede kang ipa-tow or clamp? Dapat commute lang.

August 12th, 2017 11:07 AM #6Pede rin park ka lang sa mga pay parking area or sa mga malls na malapit sa pupuntahan mo. Tapos kaunting jeep na lang. Example dun sa taft area sa gf ko, sa harison ako nakipark dati or gas station or mcdo, etc... Medyo malayong lakarin nga lang or minsan kaunting jeep pa sa destination ko pero safe naman oto at di pa ko nakaharang sa kalsada or sidewalk. ;)

Nice suggestion po. Pero hinde po applicable sa lahat every time due to limited availability of parking space. At our present situation mahirap talaga mag hanap ng parking area kung may pupuntahan because to many vehicles in the road. Metro Manila cannot handle the no. of vehicles except sa province. I would still stick to my early post n Kung walang parking area ang pupuntahan mo either private or public place mag commute na lng po tayo.

I remember yung last year, just after my mother's birthday sa province, lumuwas pabalik ng manila on a Sunday night, and left my car parked sa side street just outside our house in Manila the whole weekend, then the following day, the guys from MTPB tow trucks surprisingly came (hint: street is a secondary road that houses a big state university with 3 separate buildings).
kung hindi araw araw, siguro every other day ang punta nila para lang hilahin ang mga nakaparada sa kalsada. Since I am rarely using the car due to economics (gas, parking fees sa office [which is a flat rate, until today only]), I am forced to either bring it to work, or park in a safe place na may makikita akong bakante (one of them is under an LRT station; which is right now, is a no parking area as well).
buti na lang, yung friend ko na lumipat sa isang village (from a rented condo) has no car, but has space outside to park a car. nakiusap ako na kung pwede akong makiparada sa kanila ng weekdays and I will get the car every weekend, then ibabalik ko either on Sunday night or Monday morning. naging inaanak ko pa nga yung isang anak niya sa binyag..hehe.
after almost a year of renting a space (for free) dun sa friend ko, they decided na gagamitin na nila yung space and I look for another space para maipark yung car. since wala na akong makita pang space, I decided na iuwi yung car sa province just last weekend. besides, I can deal with commuting here in Metro Manila, and use Grab/Uber if needed.
what I am thinking is regarding sa illegal parking sa streets: dapat fair ang MMDA and the LGUs ng Metro Manila (they must tow every vehicle, mapa-private vehicle man or PUVs), and help din yung affected nito to find a parking space (a wide open lot) with a fee (it might be impossible due to lack of open spaces). aminin na natin na yung ibang bahay na naunang naitayo during the time na hindi pa congested ang traffic sa MM ay walang garahe. but due to lack of transport infrastructure and safety concerns (to name a few) ay dumami na nga ang mga sasakyan na dumadaan sa MM roads)

August 12th, 2017 12:06 PM #9Bakit naman hindi pwede bumisita? Your host should let you park inside, even if it is just the driveway.
There will be no end to our traffic woes if we will continue to allow street parking. Lahat tayo maghihirap - kesyo private or public vehicles, mahirap o mayaman. Matagal na dapat na-implement yung "no parking space, no registration" at no questions asked tow-away kapag naka park sa streets. Ngayon na ginagawa na, maraming tumututol and nagrereklamo - typical example of mali na nagiging tama dahil nakasanayan na.
Tingnan nyo na lang sa Scout area. Nag widen yung city government ng roads such that most roads effectively became 4-lane capable even if it is just designed to be compliant with 2-lane international standards. Mga hinayupak na residente ginawang paradahan both sides ng kalsada so the result is naging mas makitid pa yung passable road ngayon compared to before the road widening. Ano ba yan?
Dahil dyan, ginawang puro one-way mga mas makitid (but widened already) na daan. Aba, mas lalo pang inabuso since wala nang salubungan ng kotse sa one-way scheme dahil isang lane na lang kailangan. Dati may mga puwang pa para makadaan 2 cars kung nagka salubungan, ngayon wala na. Tadtad na both sides ng naka paradang sasakyan day and night, only 1 narrow lane remain passable. Ano ba naman yan!?
I make it a point to call the MMDA hotline to tow cars that are illegally parked on our street.
This is where government should firmly put its foot down because the private sector cannot be counted on to do the right thing. Of course mahirap kontrahin yung argument na very poor yung public transport. But at least for once in a very, very long time, we seem to be getting there. Konting tiis pa...
