Right time to register your car after 3-year registration?

The car was bought and registered July 2011 but the plate ends in 1. Does that mean it is already late for registration? I have been getting mixed answers. Some say it is not late yet and that we only have to extend the registration this July 2014 to next January 2015. But some say that it is already late since I should have registered it last January 2014, even if the 3 years registration has yet to lapse until July 2014. What is the real score? Any authoritative answers? Your replies will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Aren't you supposed to register it this coming month of July? The week of deadline depends on the middle number of your plates. I am not sure if this is still being practiced but I always register my car ahead of time.

Why don't you ask your sales advisor? He took care of the renewal of my registration when the 3 years lapsed.

Paso na registration mo. Dapat nung Jan 2014 mo pa pinarehistro yan, kasi "1" ang ending ng plaka mo.

At kung pinarehistro mo yan nung January 2014, may refund ka sa LTO kasi di ka pa nga technically nag 3 years, at kelangan nila ibalik sa yo yung difference of 6 months. (jan to jul).

an officemate had the same problem as yours. plate ends in 1 but car was purchased june. after 3 years, thinking due na sya sa registration, pinarehistro nya.

ginawa ng LTO nagissue lang ng bagong sticker. less than 500 ang officially ginastos nya (based sa OR ng LTO). fixer naglakad eh.

June 2014 - August 2014, pay for the gap.
August 2014 - new registration, valid until August 2015.

Pwede mag parenew in advance. kaya lang no sticker and no plate available pa ha?

Depende yata yan kung kelan niregister ng dealer.

I bought my MS last March of 2013 pero May pa naregister ng dealer. So check first kung niregister kagad ng dealer ng yung auto mo. Baka may lee way ka pa.

Pagkaintindi ko, Jan 2017 ka paregister, otherwise baka matechnical ka pag may huli sa daan at tiningnan sa OR na paso ang reg mo.

Then...

So starting 2018, you renew every October.
