Rascals throwing rocks at speeding vehicles is nothing new. It has been a problem on isolated highways like C5 in Metro Manila, or even on major expressways like the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. But now it's becoming apparent that the problem can happen just about anywhere.
A reader by the name of Adrian Hilario sent us these images with the following message:
"We were driving to Dangwa at 3am today, but as we were entering the underpass on Araneta Avenue, somebody threw a rock at us and hit our windshield. Good thing no shards of glass penetrated our eyes. The portion of the windshield that was hit by the rock seemed to have been pulverized at the point of impact."
Wow. It seems there are really countless people who have nothing better to do than inclict harm on others. Let's hope the law-enforcement authorities in the area take action soon. Lives could be at stake here.
As for us ordinary motorists, let us try to avoid driving in the wee hours of the morning.
