    i suppose, the "factory spec".
    if you don't know the numbers, you can take a measuring instrument and measure what's on the car now.
    if you want to diverge from these numbers, look at the pattern of sweep. that should give you an idea of how much longer you can go, without having the tips bump onto the edges.

    Planning to use Baldwin oil filter(BT223?) for my next oil change. Is this better than the new toyota oil filter?

    Bought my fortuner around 2013..

    On your Foretuner, you can use the cheapest filter and motor oil as long as you change them on time. The only reason you buy synthetic oil and high grade filter is when you want to extend the interval.

    For 5,000 kms intervals, yes this will work. Better for the environment and saves you money too. For 10,000 kms. OCI, that's when the use of fully synthetic is justified, IMO.
