    Good Day!

Were thingking of having an Innova but were still not decided on what to get. We intend to use it as long as it could serve us..just like our 20 year old corolla....obviously if we are to look at the fuel consumption....diesel will definitely be a good choice ( better FC and diesel fuel is cheaper than gas) but i we are to look in the Maintenance cost (Gas will be a better choice because of maintenance cost and parts)....my father owns a 2003 toyota revo GLX (1.8 efi gas engine) it has already drove morethan 130,000kms and still no problems encountered especially in its engine......i need your advice please.

If you will be using your Innova for a long long time, go for Diesel.

HTH.

pero sa experience ko, sobrang tipid ng D4D innova. ang VVT-i daw is medyo gas guzzler.

(sorry for the double post, ayaw ma edit ng 1st post ko eh, additional lang.)

The increased fuel-efficiency and longer lasting of the diesel engine before overhauls already pay-off the higher initial cost and some more expensive PMS procedures. And nowadays the EFI turned the diesel PMS nearly as simple as in a gasoline-powered engine, actually even easier if we consider the absence of an electric ignition setup.

That might help you: workaround ideas to discuss between friends: Diesel engines: some taboos still around it

i went for a.vvti because ill be using my innova for around 10yrs. everyone knows the maintenance and repqir cost of a diesel engine especially the crdi ones soars drastically as the car ages.

When you drive a diesel-powered vehicle for the first time you don't want to go back to gasoline. PMS ends up not so much more expensive at all, and the extra cost gets diluted due to the longer maintenance intervals.

although i'll happily be obligde with the VVTi (my office service is a J VVTi MT) cos it's fuel efficient too, i'll pick the d4d.
