It looks like they will sell models here without direct injection...

    IS300 instead of IS250 & IS350...
The LS460 will probably come with the weaker 4.6 of the GS460.

RP Lexus lineup according to Vernon Sarne's article...
    IS300
    ES350
    RX350
    GS460
    LS460
    LX570

Just in case you are wondering which BMW the IS300 would go up against based on performance... that would be the 325i.

    IS300

    Power: 228hp * 6200rpm
    Torque: 300Nm * 4400rpm
    Transmission: 6-Speed Multi-Mode ECT Automatic
    0-100km/h: 7.7 sec
    Top Speed: 235 km/h
Recommended Fuel Octane Level: 95 or higher

    325i Executive (P3.45M)

    Power: 218hp * 6500rpm
    Torque: 250Nm * 2750-4250rpm
    Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic
    0-100km/h: 7.7 sec
    Top Speed: 242 km/h

    (2008MY 325i 3.0i specs)
    Power: 218hp * 6100rpm
    Torque: 270Nm * 2400-4200rpm
    Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic
    0-100km/h: 7.1 sec
    Top Speed: 248 km/h

In Japan the base IS250 is priced just a bit higher than an Evo X GSR. I'm guessing that the IS300 will be priced above P2.8M.

Hmm...with the entry of Lexus in the Philippine market, can the Acura brand of Honda be far behind?

That could be a possibility, but for now it looks like Toyota is the only one serious in making a true global Japanese Luxury brand.

Currently these are the only Acura specific models(the others are rebadged JDM Honda models)
Acura TL (made in Marysville, Ohio, USA)

Acura RDX (made in Marysville, Ohio, USA)

all-new 2nd gen Acura MDX (made in Alliston, Ontario, Canada)

Ilang taon ko na rin naririnig yung balitang yan...sa wakas nagkatotoo.

I've seen a fair number of LS460s running about in Manila streets. Next to its apologetic-looking predecessors the present LS looks very, very good.

JPEPA will make Lexus cheaper than BMW or Mercedes Benz. Maybe that's why they delayed the entry of Lexus to coincide with the implementation of JPEPA.

But the camry is only priced at $18-$25k (750k - 1.0M), pag dating dito 1.6 - 2.0M. By that same measure the Lexus will be priced from 2.6M to 3.0M, depending on the model.

The RP/ASEAN market Camry is CBU from Thailand, the Lexus models will be CBU from Japan. So expect it to be much more expensive(not proportional).

In Japan the entry level Lexus IS250 costs more than a Lancer Evo X.
So I guess we can expect the Lexus range to start at least over P2.6M.

my 8 year old IS200 costs P1.8M way back in 1999. so the lowest spec IS250 would run around P2.5M up by 07 prices.... i heard the IS350 sells for P4M, a camry will always be a little cheaper than an IS, the ES is a camry clone. IS is rear wheel drive, ES and Camry is fwd.

It looks like Toyota(Lexus) has no plans to currently sell models with gasoline direct injection(D-4) like the V6 engines in the IS250 and IS350.
According to the article of Vernon Sarne, they will sell the IS300 here(see photo and engine specs on my previous post).

The IS300 is only sold in some markets including the UAE.
Unlike the direct injection engines of the IS250 and IS350, it uses electronic fuel injection.

Toyota/Lexus engines with model codes that end with "SE" have direct injection like the IS250's "4GR-FSE" and the IS350's "2GR-FSE".

The IS300 uses a "3GR-FE" engine, Toyota/Lexus engines with model codes that end with "E" use Electronic Fuel injection.
