Even Land Cruiser fanatics hated that concept truck.

recently unveiled at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
>>release:2006
>>engine:4.0L V6 245hp
>>competitors:Nissan Xterra,Jeep Liberty
>>target buyers:young males
>>classification:"Freedom Trucks" (per Toyota)-go anywhere,look like nobody else,powerful,affordable,etc.
>>proected sales:initially 40,000 annually
>>slots between the Rav4 and 4Runner ,Toyota's 6th SUV in the US
>>platform:based on the 4Runner/GX470/Prado

it sure looks like old landcruisers of yore (didn't realize they were called FJ's then....but does this SUV look funky, ugly or what?the roof rack looks wrong, the A-pillar is black and the C-pillar is huge(for less visual acuity?)

Front looks like an old Land Cruiser. Don't like the color scheme. Hate the mags. Oh can't see myself driving in one of those. I'd get the Xterra over this one.

It borders on ugliness. Even LC die-hards have a hard time accepting the look (and the relatively so-so specs).

It's trying to sell on heritage, unlike the Xterra which sells on function and ability.

i still think toyota's new SUV looks like a vehicle for rollie polie ollie's family. but it's so radical typical american young males will head to the dealerships to get one.i heard it will sell from $20-27K.

Just one of those love it-or-hate it designs. These days kasi mahirap na i-define what people actually like on designs. Every new car model that comes out usually breaks all the stereotype.

yeah, remember the scion xB? a lot of people hate looking at it, but a lot more love it because it's very successful in the marketplace. so maybe there's hope on this 1, this fj cruiser.

the white roof and grille does make it look weird...

hummer was very successful (IMO) in translating the H1 to the H2, even jeep is good at carrying heritage. but toyota wasn't able to bag this one.

Besides, it might look different in real life... Some cars are not photogenic.
