I'd like to get your comments regarding this model.

Is it still worth considering to get a 1997 Prado VX with a 3.4l V6 engine? Mileage is 150k already.

Is this model durable? Parts are still available? And maintenance is not a headache?

Thanks in advance for those who will give their comment. God bless!

Yep. My pal has one. Bibili siya dapat ng used 01 Patrol but we all know the horror stories of that model.

2 years na sa kanya LC90 and very happy. Nasira transmission once but ginawa ng Land Cruiser specialist shop (Dr. G's car clinic).

Now swabe pa din. Rides better than my pals brand new Fort.

Karamihan ng fixit items ay small and minor. Naka snorkel na. Next project daw mud tires. Hehe.

Thank you for your reply bro Otep. It's good to hear that the LC90 is highly serviceable.

I'm actually choosing between the Prado LC90 and another similar SUV from another manufacturer. Both are 4x4 and within the same year range.

I'll try to research more about the LC90. Thanks again.

We had a green 97 VX V6 Dubai LC90 before and it was pretty damn durable. Of course it chugs gas like theres no tomorrow but aside from that we had no complains about it. It was very comfy too.

For an LC90, 150k is fresh.

Pero yeah, might be the 3.4L V6 engine kaya hindi masyado nagamit.

Especially kapag LC80, 150k is still considered a virgin. :rofl01:

The 3.4 v6 is durable and was also released in the u.s so there are lots of parts for it. There is even a supercharger kit from trd for it,

Not withstanding fuel efficiency, which variant is easier to maintain in the long run, the Petrol VZ V6 (5VZ-FE engine) or the diesel TZ (1KZ-TE turbo diesel engine)

If I am planning to keep this model for the next 5 years which would you suggest? Thanks again.

The guys at the shop unofficially say the petrol version. But they work on both engines.

Bros, im currently negotiating for one. I hope to get an LC90 that will serve me another 100k km.

What are the things that would potentially turn you off from the deal?

As for me, cosmetic flaws, as long as not a major concern like heavily rusted, would still be a go.
