The hilux 4x2 from 96 was sourced from Thailand- 2.4L diesel engine, soft ride. The 4x4's were still made in Japan with a 2.8L diesel engine, built tough.

Your budget should get you a 98-99 4x2 hilux model.

and yung isa ko pang question.. is there anyway i could fit 2 L7's in a hilux?

Seems there are more surplus hilux surf's than local model. There's a local '97 hilux for P300k and a 98 for P398k.
