im trying to check the ignition timing on a Bigbody GLI with a 4afe. however, the degree indicator is a metal tab that covers the width of the crankshaft pulley which prevents you from matching marks with a timing light. its unlike other engines wherein the degree indicator is on the engine block and there is a timing notch on the pulley. can i set timing with just the diagnosis port, put a clip in E1 and TE1, turn the distributor until the check engine indicates a no code signal?
