if the engine is that of models up to the '90's, it might be okay provided you have the oversized piston and rings for the new bore. today's engines are made with thinner block walls or aluminum walls in an effort to reduce weight. some cylinder bores are not designed to be rebored because they have a wear resistant liner that machining it would render the engine block useless.

first of all, why the rebore? are the cylinder walls damaged? the overhaul parts and supplies includes connecting rod bearings, main journal bearings, thrust spacer, piston rings, gasket set that includes air induction system gaskets, o-rings and seals. oxygen sensor safe rtv (formed in place gasket) sealant. exhaust gaskets and of course your expendables like engine oil, anti-freeze/coolant and the oil filter. if your engine needs a rebore, investigate the cause of the cylinder bore damage. usually, in the country, the air filter is not serviced/replaced or sometimes is not even there resulting in a dusted engine that bores are abraded by the air borne dust.

so your next oversize bore is .25? is this in millimeters? have all the bores checked for roundness and taper. this will require oversize pistons along with oversized piston rings. the wear and tear might be attributed to a possible overcooled and/or dusted engine, maybe from using the wrong grade lubricant. correct any discrepancy before the problem recurs.
How about 97 LXi?
