good day to everyone here at tsikot...

i'm planning to get my 1st brand new car this year and i'm quite interested on getting a yaris for my family. the reason behind this is i'm quite fond of looking at compact cars (actually had a exsior before but after a year i sold it). is it gonna be ok since i'm a little bit large for a compact car (5'11) and having a 7 year old daughter na rin? some people say i should get the altis but nung sinakyan ko medyo masakit sa mata yung loob para sa askin (i'm not claustrophobic but parang d ako makahinga sa loob). you may find me weird pero mas nagustuhan ko yung loob ng yaris kasi simple lang. though i read some feedbacks na made of plastics lang yung interior nun.

some say get myself a vios but i already have a sedan car and it'a a honda. i'm a little bit torn between the yaris and the honda jazz but for a 100k na difference sa price, i might get the cheaper one and save the remaining cash for some audio set up or the RS yaris model.

yaris owners hope you can help me. thanks much!

The Yaris is fine overall but i think a problem you'll encounter is the lack of luggage space if its for family use. I have a friend with a newborn and he has to repalce his Yaris since he cant fill in all his stuff when they travel. If thats a concern then the Jazz would give you better space.

The interior quality of the Yaris is fine, better than what you can find in the Vios. As for fitting inside the car, I think you would just fit into it. Best way is to go to a showroom and try sitting inside one.

As for cargo space, it is fine as long as you don't plan to have another baby.

I have a yaris '10 model. The only concern is the cargo space but since I don't use it to haul stuffs, its ok. You will be surprise with its fuel economy and will make you go places..

i'm 5'10 but i can fit ok inside the yaris dahil sa structural design niya without moving the seat backwards. sa jazz ok naman kaso, like the civic, i think my knee caps would bump to the dash sometimes so i have to move it back.
it depends whether mas mahaba legs mo or mas mahaba body mo, and i think i'm kinda balanced naman though mas mahaba ng onti leg ko.
yaris is good so far, yun nga lang eh if you don't mind the cargo capacity at the back, kasi para lang sa akin, halos wala na kasi mailagay. legroom sa likod and FC is ok too.
the interior is actually good for a plastic, simple yet not boring. i find it better than the swift and the jazz
this is for the current model ok? yung bagong unit for 2012 never tried pa

just went to honda alabang and had a test drive of the new jazz 1.5 A/T...feel ko lang d gaano ka smooth yung ride nya for a brand new car (dunno coz it seems na pang road test tlaga nila yun). comment ko lang sa jazz ang haba ng dashboard, i can't actually make a rough estimate whenever i make a turn or parking the car since d ko makita yung hood.

wala kasi nagpapatest drive ng yaris dito e. i actually saw one in toyota manila bay pero may nagmamay ari na nun, mabait lang yung SA kasi pinasakay ako sa loob kahit papano.

need more input guys...thanks a lot for the help

Ganun din ang Yaris di mo makikita hood nya... Although pareho naman silang pango eh just watch the car in front as long as nakikita mo pa bumper nya you are in a safe distance pa naman...

before jumping to buy agad diyan sa honda alabang, just incase nga na bibili ka na. i'd recommend (no offense to other owners who purchased their cars from honda alabang nor to honda alabang itself) for you to read some horror stories muna here regarding that casa. not every casa is safe naman pero at least have a background from them before purchasing. hindi sa sinisiraan ko honda alabang pero may nabasa lang ako dito rin about sa kanila na i think e makakatulong naman sa mga kagaya niyo na potential buyers diyan

On long drives, any car can do it. But since you are in a small car, just avoid unpaved roads and you will be fine.

As for the backup sensor, its a dealer option and not standard equipment. So it would do you well to negotiate with more Honda car dealers, including those outside the Alabang area for the best deal you can get. Typically they would have a standard price and discount for the car but they will differ in the freebies and options included.

But even if you can't get a factory fitted backup sensor, you can still have one installed by a car accessory store. And despite what the casa might tell you, it will not invalidate the car's warranty.
