Hi All, I got my black fortuner finally and love it. Now Im paranoid. Some friends and relatives are saying that these are favorites among carjackers. So I did some research and saw these instances of carnapped forts.

ZFV-397 - black. stolen in muntinlupa. used in carnap operation
RFW-989 - stolen in pampanga aug 2010. recovered
NYO 445 - stolen in valenzuela: recovered
YDC-961 - black. recovered in talisay city
    MUC-88 - recovered
    from Chavit's daughter - recovered
    from Mendoza's daughter - recovered

Are carnapping of Fortuners still rampant nowadays? Do Insurance companies help in recovering vehicles? Any tips aside from the usual ones? (park safe/don't mind flyers/always look at surrounding before leaving, entering the car)

Just need some info for my peace of mind. I love this car already. Thanks.

available pa rin ba yung sim-operated anti-theft system for cars? i saw it on TV a few years ago...maybe that will help, you need to shell out a few more bucks for that.

Basta new vehicles rampant yan sa carnapping/jacking.. Lalo na yung wala pang plates, kaya konting ingat. Pero kahit anong ingat sh*t happens, and when it happens it will happen. Kaya nga may insurance tayo. And as usual be safe lagi, be alert sa sorroundings, wag magpark sa alanganin.. and pray..

Bring some other security and protection like HAND GUN and be a member sa gun club para for sure you know how to use it. Tingnan natin if dimadala ang mga carnapers nato, for sure magdadalwang isip na ang mga yan mag carnap.

For sure din if mangyari manyan ready to shot and be killed na mga yan. And plenty of shot out and death tolls if mangyari yan.

But one thing for sure dina madali mag carnap nang sasakyan, dadaan muna sila sa butas nang karayum kung baga.

PRO GUN (May negative aspect lang nga)

Id rather surrender my car, handa pumatay yang mga yan.. Besides kaya nga may insurance diba?..
