Talaga bang Toyota Phils. will void the engine warranty if you bring your own oil even though same specs as what they claim to be "toyota oil"? Or racket lang ba ng mga dealers ito?

Sabi sa Toyota Manila Bay it's just repackaged Chevron oil.

I used to bring my own oil before at Toyota Shaw-Ortigas. They never stated that it'll void the warranty.

When I switched to using synthetic oil, the SA even advised me to just go back after 10K km instead of the 5K km interval indicated in the warranty booklet.

ibang dealer will void the warranty if dealer's oil is not used. quick money nga naman. over-priced cheap dirt oil (usualy mono-grade oil lang ginagamit nila).

If you follow the oil specifications (SAE/API Service Ratings) stated on Toyota's Owner Manual...dapat hindi.

Otherwise, we will all end up buying Toyota branded gasoline/diesel!

But, I'm not the Toyota Warranty OIC, so I cannot guarantee it.

As for me, I use Toyota's Oil, for convenience sake.

Grabe tumaga, P560/liter yung synthetic nila while yung Motul synthetic P460/liter "lang". So at least P200/liter ang tubo! And I just found out the kahit same owner ang manila bay, cubao, and marikina dealerships ay magkaiba ang kanilang required oil brand. "toyota" oil sa manila bay while amalie elixir sa other 2....

I'd rather go with the "Toyota" oil than Amalie. I heard they were not that good but didn't read up enough to prove it. Anyhow, like what HIFI said, if the oil you put in conforms to the Toyota oil's requirement, then it should be good for your engine. Oils available outside the casa actually not only conform to the minimum requirement, they even exceed it.
