for the past months, i came across a couple of LCs that were for sale. from 40 series to 80 series, sobrang taas ng price. what is so special about the Land Cruiser?

saw this LC just last saturday. I talked to the driver, according to him, the owner would consider selling it at 1M daw. to think that galing subic pa ito. I know near mint condition pa ito. but still, with that price, you have a lot of options na na brand new.

even yung mga SWB? sa mga online selling sites, parang "normal" na yung 750k for the LC70 na mint condition in manual tranny.

If you really want an old LC, you can find one unrestored for cheap, but for something that well cared-for and kitted out, you'll have to pay a lot.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Matibay and it just keeps going. Although they are faster on the road, walang sinabi ang Monty Sport and Fortuner sa tibay, off-road performance out-of-the-box, and resale value.

Maswerte yung mga nakabili ng local LC80 and LC100s before the tax schemes were revised. The 80s sold brand new from P1.4M to P1.7M in late 1995 to 1997. When the LC100 first came out locally (1998-2000), it sold at around 1.8M to 1.9M before new taxes made it breach the P2M mark. On the second hand market, a good LC80 will still flirt with the 1M mark today... and surprisingly, there are buyers.

Even the 40 series in good condition will fetch 250K-300K on the second hand market.

yung mga 40 series na nakita ko, at 250-300k pesos, hindi pa siya fully restored. probably good running condition palang. pag fully restored, patay na ang price hehe

Parts? Saw a PUJ up north sporting the complete front fascia of a LC200, headlights, grille, bumper.

After the warranty period, the maintenance costs pretty much lessen. I just have the neighborhood mechanic change the oil and doc g does the repairs on my 94 cruiser.

Landcruisers are a living proof of toughness, resilience, dependability, name it. The older LC even run in maintenance-free timing gears. While the Land Rovers are also reputed, still it has less to offer than Toyota Landcruisers, specifically in the powerplant department and comfort, except perhaps, when it comes to the Range Rover. But still, when it comes to toughness, dependability and durability, adaptability, the Landcruisers are way at it compared to the problematic Range Rovers especially when both are under extreme abuse. A lot of UK nationals, Aussies, and Kiwis i know cringe on the issue of reliability when it comes to the Range Rovers. They said, they'd be better off with the Land Rover-version if that's the case and better yet, just go for the Landcruisers problem solved they say.

Pinaka-gusto ko mga LC70 series na may "hood scoop" where the engine mated to it is the modern-day 4.5-litre V8-configured 1VD-FTV engine with single turbocharger. The engine is dubbed as 4.5 D-4D. Next best engine after the 4.5-litre D-4D commonrail is the 4.2-litre straight-6 cylinder 1HD-FTE turbodiesel EFi engine.

    Love the Landcruisers!
