    Check the owner's manual or shop manual for your car. It will tell you the minimum thickness of the rotors wherein it should be replaced. You can resurface your rotors as often as necessary, up until you reach minimum thickness.

    Depends on the thickness of the rotors and whether it is warped or not.

    I just buy a new set usually; replacements.
