A FRIEND of mine change his rear shocks to rancho and now he says much better than before...
WBR,
You don't have to wait for your warranty to expire. Kung hindi mo na talaga ma-tolerate yung stock shocks mo, then change it. No sense na tiisin just for the sake of warranty.
Monseratto is right. Since your ride is new, bear with it at analyze the problem before cahnging it. Warranty is important dude, it can save ur car and ur pocket. Why take the risk. Be safe and..... cool.Originally Posted by Bry

sanayan nga lang siguro yan... i have been used to riding on ladder frame suv's and i find the ride of the fortuner not bad at all.
Madali naman alisin ang aftermarket shocks in case you need to make a warranty claim on the suspension.
If you are making a claim on areas of the vehicle unrelated to the suspension, then you don't have to take out the aftermarket shocks.

yeah usually stock suspension is just OK, with aftermarket parts you can fine tune your suspension to whatever you like. If you can afford a fortuner I guess a set of shocks and springs wont hurt you that much specially once youve ridden and feel the comfort it'll give you. I like the suspension of the fortuner but it isnt for everyone.cheers!!!
removing the front shocks of the fortuner is not as easy as other common 4wds. it will take about minimum 3 hours to change it.
dapat harap likod pinalit niya baka hinde pantay un suspension feel.. hehe
Ganoon ba kahirap tangalin yong Front shock ng Fortuner? Di naman sya nakapasok sa loob ng spring tulad ng Innova.
the shock is inside the spring just like the innova. only difference is its longer. its a strut design, so you have to remove the whole spring/shock assembly, put a spring compressor, remove the top plate, remove spring, fit it to the new shock, install the top plate, making sure that the position of the top plate is aligned, re install the shocks. also remember the shock is at its full extension, some times you have to remove the anti sway bar to make the suspension on full droop for easy reinstalling and removing. after all this reinstall the tires. if done both sides at the same time by four people work can be cut down to about an hour.
the design is like the series 90 and 120 prado, toyota tacoma, new hi-lux. we have changed the shocks na of the new hi-lux wala pang fortuner kase na ubos ang stock in manila pa lang.
Oh i see, meron nb para sa Innova na shocks na mas malambot ang tagal ko na naghahanap. Naka 17" tires ako di kaya magsayad yong tire sa front kung mas malambot ang shocks? San ang shop nyo? Medyo OT yataOriginally Posted by ARB

Anobody knows kung meron available na torsion or anti-sway bar para sa rear suspension ng Fortuner?
I think this will help minimize the body roll.... ewan ko lang ha, just an idea.
Comments plz...
Just a tip dudes. Maybe you could wait for some time since the Fortuner is new in the market, maybe... just maybe... when they see the defects or stuff that needs to be rectified, sometimes they'll just recall the units and install new parts... free of charge. It happened to me one time dun sa Suzuki Esteem ko. They recalled all units and changed the shocks. Its still hard but it was improved. BUT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY..... JUST DO IT! swoosh.....
