source: wikipedia.orgFirst appeared in 2002, this is the newest model of Land Cruiser Prado group. This model no longer follow its predessors title known as the 'light duty' Land Cruiser but rather as a mid sized Luxury SUV. A new 4.0 L (3955cc) V-6 1GR-FE gasoline engine was available only in Europe first. In Japan, the manual transmission are all dispatch. Engines available are 2.7 L (2693cc) straight-4 3RZ-FE, 3.4 L (3378cc) V-6 5VZ-FE and 3.0 L (2982cc) straight-4 Turbo diesel 1KD-FTV.' In countries like China, a new developed engine, V-6 1GR-FE are available. Because this is a luxury SUV, burglary is not uncommon. For this purpose, the immoblizer is introduced into this model.
In August 2004, the 3RZ-FE was replaced by 2.7 L (2694cc) 2TR-FE and in July 2005, 5VZ-FE was replaced by 4.0 L (3955cc) V-6 1GR-FE with 5-speed automatic transmission available in late 2005.
In countries like America, this model is known as Lexus GX 470 with 4.7 L (4663cc) V-8 2UZ-FE engine.
For overseas exports, diesel models have had the 1KZ-TE turbo diesel engine with maximum output rating 96KW/135ps as well as the 5L-E natural aspirated diesel engine rating 70KW/95ps. In November 2006, Toyota introduced the 1KD-FTV Turbo Diesel (D-4D) engine into Australia to meet Euro IV emission standards. This engine delivers 127kW of power and 410 Nm of torque. The upgrade to the D4D engine was also matched with transmission upgrades to the diesel range, with the 5-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions added in line with the petrol powered range.
The 120-series Land Cruiser Prado shares the same suspension parts as the current generation 4Runner and FJ Cruiser for the Northern America markets.
saw a white prado earlier at annapolis greenhills, meron light sa lower rear bumper. does anyone know kung kailangan bumili ng separate light housing/assembly for it or lalagyan na lang yan ng bulb?

hehe oo nga, mukhang manual based on the pics. medyo natakpan ng konti nung console box kaya di masyado kita sa pics.
rich, you dont need to buy a new light for the bumper, all you have to do is to put a hole in the back then put a bulb holder and insert it. put silicone sealant to prevent water from entering. done it already on a customers prado.
You just need a socket and a bulb. If you want the lights to illuminate as the taillights do, then you'll need double contact bulbs and sockets. I just had mine tapped to the park light so they're always on when the lights are.
the local Prados only have the silver round center plastic cover with "Land Cruiser" etched on it secured by a stud bolt and a lock that's opened by the car's keys. it looked quite bare, so i bought a cover from Ride.
you'll appreciate the silver plastic cover when you've gotta change a flat. it's quite hard mounting the spare with the tire case that covers both front and back. ;)
