TMG intercepts two stolen luxury cars

The Traffic Management Group (TMG) intercepted two stolen luxury vehicles worth more than P1 million each in Port Area, Manila as they were about to be shipped to Cebu.

TMG director Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad said operatives foiled an attempt by car thieves to ship to Cebu a 2008 model Honda CRV (ZDY-718) and a Mitsubishi L300 Strada (ZJM-904) on a Sulpicio Lines passenger ship.

Palad said a Sulpicio Lines liaison officer coordinated with the TMG stationed at the Western Motor Vehicle Clearance Station in Port Area under Superintendent Rudie Valoria upon learning the presence of the two vehicles.

The officers immediately checked on the vehicles and scrutinized the Land Transportation Office (LTO) documents.

"Subsequent verifications made by TMG in coordination with the LTO disclosed that the plate number ZDY-718 was originally attached to a Honda Civic sedan owned by one Milagros Solipsi while plate number ZJM-904 was registered to a Toyota Fortunner owned by Allan Supan," Palad said in a report.

During initial investigation, Palad said the Mitsubishi Strada and the Honda CRV were presented for shipment at Sulpicio Lines with accompanying LTO documents in the names of Alex Chua and Calvin Dy, respectively.

The TMG chief said the cars’ documents had only one file number and the alleged owners had the same address, which is at 15 Prestige building on T. Alonzo street in Manila.

'luxury' vehicles na pala ang crv at strada. pero kudos at nahuhuli nila ang ganyan. hindi na pala uso ang chopchop. buong binebenta na pala ang sasakyan ngayon pero ibang probinsya lang. tsk. sobrang sumasama na reputation ng cebu regarding smuggled/stolen vehicles.
