Wala na effect mga anting anting
Govt stickers will no longer exempt anyone from traffic violations

    07/02/2010 | 09:35 PM

Vehicular stickers displaying seals and logos of government agencies such as the Office of the President, Philippine National Police (PNP), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will no longer exempt anyone from traffic violations.

PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina made this declaration on Friday, when police began apprehending and confiscating sirens and blinkers.

While no law has been enacted against placing these stickers on private vehicles, police will no longer "honor" the stickers if vehicle owners are caught violating traffic rules.

"Pwede sila magdikit pero di namin kinikilala (You can put these up but we won't honor them)," Espina said in an interview on dzBB radio Friday.

He was referring to motorists who place stickers with logos of government agencies including the PNP's Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and NBI on their vehicles.

Some vehicles have also been noted sporting stickers bearing the logo of the Presidential Security Group, and even the Office of the President.

Espina reminded the PNP not to allow vehicles bearing such stickers to have their way in traffic.

"Antimano hindi naman namin kinikilala ang sticker na ito, yung pang-HPG o PNP," he said.

(In the first place, we should never honor these kinds of stickers.)

The PNP has started a nationwide crackdown on wangwang, after President Aquino focused on its abuse in his inauguration speech last Wednesday.

Mr. Aquino has also traveled to his destinations without using these devices, forcing him to arrive late at an official function on Friday. - RJAB Jr./JV, GMANews.TV

They don't stand for anything in the first place (unless the driver has an ID to prove it).

    to P-noy. sana magtuloy tuloy.

afaik, wala naman talagang exemption sa violation tong mga to e.

its just that yung mga nag-iimplement ang hindi nanghuhuli. so sila din ang may problema. so ang nasa isip ng mga owners with govt stickers, exempted/iwas huli sila.

no one should be above the law.
