    PAF officers recently visited PZL Swidnik assembly plant in Poland to conduct on-site inspection.

    PAF has ordered 8 brand new Sokol W-3 combat utility helicopters to augment the service's helicopter fleet composed mostly of aging UH-IH Huey helicopters.

    China, Vietnam(8) and Burma(13) are the other asian countries operators. The Iraqis were supposed to purchase too, but returned it and cancelled the program.

    Iraqi Air Force received two W-3A (serialled 370912 and 370914) aircraft in 2006 but contract was rejected and both helicopters were returned to PZL Świdnik.
    Wished the PAF bought a more state of the art aircraft than the Sokol.



    Swiss Air Force Eurocopter EC635 military helicopters are parked during a demonstration in Alpnach May 28, 2010. The air force recently took delivery of 20 of the lightweight, multi-role helicopters.








    A Joint Multinational Readiness Center's Falcon Team pilot lands one of five new UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopters at Hohenfels Army Airfield April 21. The new helicopters will replace the post's aging fleet of UH-1 Hueys.

    Pasalamat na rin tayo at meron silang bagong helicopter. Performance wise, sino kaya mas maganda? UH1 or PZL?

    ooh so natuloy pala to? akala ko nacancel na for investigation. this is good news and hopefully makabili ng iba pang brand new attack and rescue choppers.

    Yung 7 attack helicopters ang under investigation. Itong 8 Sokol transports approved. 4 for the first batch. The other 4 to arrive later. Swerte ng pilots and mechanics. Training in Poland as a Christmas gift.

    That may not be that much of a x-mas gift considering it has been bitterly cold in europe lately, eastern europe in particular (-30+ Celsius in some parts).

    Besides, there's really nothing to do in Deblin, where the Polish Air Force trains.
