    ...buying a Suzuki, be it a Jimny or a Samurai (no Vitaras, pls 1600cc kasi)), price range, weak spots. ;)

    mukhang mauunahan pa ako ni Tess magka- samurai

    Alfred,

    ang alam ko lang dyan eh price kasi tumingin na din ako dati nyan dahil iyan din samurai ang gusto kong ipalit sa paje ko.

    nasa Php180-190k range ang Samurai 1994-1995
    ang Jimny turbo intercooler ay nasa Php180K, ,mas mahal kung naka setup na siguro ;) pa test drive kapag meron na ehehehe

    Alamin mo muna kung local or imported. hehehe.

    A lot of the units are not used off-road pero bihira din ang super alaga.

    1993 model nga pala yung Jimny na Php180K na nakita ko sa buy and sell.

    Kimps:: nabenta na ni Pinsan yung makinis niyang Zook (white). He bought a Gen1 3Dr Paje. Pero meron siyang toy Zook (yellow). Naka lift and 33" MTs. SObrang tagtag sa kalye pero Super pang offroad. (tagtag lang nga talaga)

    31 a/ts lang ok na. pang daily driven to and from office. have to save pa. not really looking for super kinis or set-up (mahal na kasi). kahit medyo bulok basta working ang 4x4 niya and good running condition ang engine.

    weak spots nf suzuki samurai IMO are:
    1) aircon - minsan wala, minsan meron pero mahina at dahil 13K or lower ang engine medyo mahirap lagyan ng aircon without having extra cooling fans ang radiator to survive manila traffic.

    2) sound-proofing - bare-bones kasi parang owner jeep.

    3) steering - I have yet to see a power steering assisted suzuki na original installed. (Correct me if I'm wrong, pero lumabas yata ito na wala talagang power steering.) Lalo na kung naka 31x10.5 ka na tires ang hirap iliko nito (puede kung naka 7" width siguro but for a lady driver baka lumaki braso nya).

    4) Busina ay mahina - parang kia pride...hindi bagay kung naka 31" tires and lift.

    5) Ride comfort - lalo na kung sanay na puwet mo sa SUV or car ride....nothing compares sa tagtag nito. Maybe converting it to a coil spring suspension will do the trick kaso para kang bumili ng isa pang 2nd hand jimny siguro ang cost to convert.

    6) Parang pangit ang center of gravity nito - medyo mataas?!

    PERO grabe....less than P200K na offroader!!!

    Sir why don't you consider an LC40 series instead? Just get the diesel model para mas cheaper pa rin ang fuel.

    LC40 might be too big for my wife, baka hinde na siya makita ng other driver, akala nila runaway car. Malaki na naman ang braso niya and hindi naman masyadong mabigat parang mga toyota corolla xl lang. mas malakas ang sigaw ni tess compared sa busina nito ;) how about the engine? maintenance? nasaan kaya ang mga zook riders dito.
