gas shock absorber

how to detect worn out gas shock absorber, in fluid type, usually the fluid will leak out, in gas type, ? how? Does it have to be disassembled to just check, if it's still good or bad? pls. comment, kasi kakatamad magbaklas just to check it.

Just push down on the corner of the car nearest the shock absorber being tested. If the car bounces several times, it means the shock absorber is dead. But if the rebound is only once, its still ok.
